I look like a cartoon, but it serves the purpose!

The purpose of this pink plastic cap is to keep your hair dry while you are in the bath or shower. My GF also said that years ago her Grandma would wear one to keep her hair in place while she slept. Neither of us can tell you how effective this method worked.

Before entering the shower or bath, simply pull up your hair and tuck it in the cap as you pull the cap onto your head. The longer and thicker your hair is, the more difficult this will be. Also, the shorter and finer you hair is, the more effective this cap will be at keeping your hair dry.

This cap is very feminine. There is a ruffled edge and a black satin bow in the center front. The words, "la vita e bella" are printed above the bow.

The plastic is soft and smooth and there is an elastic, which forms a ruffle, but other than this, there really is no need/way to discribe consistency or viscosity, since there is none. It is a thin plastic and adequate for the purpose of keeping your hair dry. It does not feel sticky, tacky or greasy...do I even need to say this to you?

There is no plastic taste and there is no smell to the cap. I did expect there to be a slight plastic smell to the cap, but there is none. Perhaps, this is due to Principessa using very high quality components in their products. I have used several of their products and been uber satisfied with them all.

La Vita e Bella!! Ahhh...yes! This is what is written in black across the front of the shower cap. I had a friend who speaks fluent Italian translate it for me and he tells me it actually has two meanings. The first, and most common, translates to, "The life is beautiful." and the second, more slang/coloquial meaning is, "Take that silly hat off your head, you're not in the shower any longer". You pick.

The cap fits nicely on any size head. My GF has a pretty average size head but I have always been told I have a big head, really. When I was in high school and we were measured for our graduation caps, I took a larger size than my buds. Still, this cap fit both of us. My GF has long, thick hair and she had a problem squeezing it all under the cap. Tiny frizzies stuck out no matter what she tried and the lower edges of her hair were wet, but not enough to ruin her style. I have short hair, maybe an inch or shorter and it was not problem keeping my hair dry.

Since this is always used in the shower, a bit of shampoo and some warm water is all it takes to keep it clean. We leave it hanging right in the shower. So that the side touching your hair will be dry, you should hang it inside out. We leave it on the knob that controls the shower water. You could also carefully wipe it out with a towel and leave it out to dry.

As all Principessa Beauty items do, this comes packaged in a simple, yet lovely, pink and black package. This is a pop up box in a very unusual design. It can be wrapped or used on its own. It would make a great stocking or basket stuffer for any woman, young or older.
