When I first saw this kit, I thought to myself “Wow, that’s pretty cheesy”. However, this kit completely revamped my sex life. After dating for a couple years, it’s pretty easy to let the romance fizzle out, but it really brought back the intimacy and my boyfriend and I honestly had the best sex we’ve had in ages.

The kit comes in an elegant lace-like box wrapped in plastic. Once you open up the box, it contains two champagne flutes wrapped in bubble wrap and paper, chocolate body paint, berry flavored warming massage oil, a paint brush, four tea light candles, and a bunch of silk rose petals. Each is wrapped in plastic or a box to protect it during shipping.

Now here comes the boring part—the description of each item.

The champagne flutes contained minor imperfections in the glass, but were not easily noticed (unless under scrutiny for this review!) They also were dusty and required a good washing before use.

The body paint and massage oil each came in a 1 oz. tube, which looks strikingly small but lasts awhile since you don’t use much during each use. Both the paint and oil passed the taste test with flying colors. My boyfriend is picky when it comes to sweets and flavored items, but found these to be alright. The chocolate body paint is essentially chocolate syrup, and was, unfortunately, past the expiration date when I received the kit. It also states in fine print that it needs to be refrigerated after use, which can be easily missed.

The berry flavored massage oil really surprised me, since I did not expect such a strong taste based on past experiences with flavored sensual aids. However, it had a strong, sharp berry flavor with a wonderfully delicious scent to boot. It was a little greasy, but it really helped our hands to glide over each other’s bodies. The oil warmed up with touch, but did not automatically warm up on contact with skin as with other warming products I have used. It also is not meant to be used as a personal lubricant. The brush was soft and reminiscent of a makeup brush, but was easily lost once things heated up.

The tea lights lasted the whole time the kit was in use (approximately an hour or so), but did not have any scent. The petals also did not contain a rose scent as advertised in the product description, although they were soft.

After taking stock of the kit, I saved it until I was ready to create the perfect setting for a romantic evening. One day after my boyfriend came home from work, I fixed him dinner, and we watched some TV to unwind. Then after fooling around for a little bit, I had him follow a trail of the petals down the hall to the bedroom where I lay naked in bed with a few of the rose petals covering my breasts and pubic area. I had candles burning and romantic music playing in the background (Lifehouse’s No Name Face), with the paint and oil conveniently placed in arms reach. We kissed a bit, and then he started to massage me with the oil, which made me feel like dessert as he licked and kissed my skin. Then he started to use the chocolate body paint, but found it messy and hard to paint with, especially since the brush fell behind the bed almost immediately after we started. I did not find it that difficult to finger paint with though, and painted “lick me” across my inner thighs, which he eagerly obeyed. After that point, we forgot about the kit entirely and made love so passionately, like we hadn’t in MONTHS. After the obligatory cuddling, cleaning up, and pee break, we moved into the bathroom with more conveniently placed candles (the tea lights fit perfectly into small nooks and crannies around the tub!) and took a hot bath together to wash off the residue of the body paint and oil. We ended our romantic night with a movie and champagne, and more intimate cuddling.

Overall, while we could have bought everything in this kit separately and saved some money, it was very convenient and made for a wonderful evening. The box can be reused for storing whatever you want, since it’s pretty and discrete. The kit was not cheesy or “forced” as I expected, and it turned an ordinary Wednesday night into something beautiful, intimate, and extraordinary. I will definitely be using this kit again and again. You don’t have to be married or celebrating a special occasion to use this kit. It honestly can revamp a tired, worn out, stuck-in-a-rut sex life and put a little romance back into the relationship.
