Massages That Make Me Purr

The Contour Q is a versatile and well-made massage duo that is appropriate for both individual and partner use. The variety of textures allow for a wide range of exploration and the smoothness of the ceramic means they can be used both with or without additional massage lotions or oils. They're waterproof, durable, and simply demand a locked bedroom door and some quiet time with you and your partner.

extremely useful review
Jimmyjane's Contour Q is a set of two textured ceramic massagers that are not only very effective, but absolutely gorgeous in that modern minimalist way that I love. Let's ignore the fact that they look suspiciously like very stylish salt and pepper shakers at first glance. These massagers are a very welcome addition to my growing arsenal of achingly elegant sex toys.

The pair is made from a smooth, glazed ceramic. Each massager has a unique texture - either nubbed or rippled - that offers a depth of stimulation that is missing in flat massagers. It is possible to discern some differences between the two textures during use, but not so that one would think that the sensations are coming from two completely different, unrelated massagers. They're not brothers, but they are cousins. The textures remain in the same family.

The smoothness of the ceramic allows both massagers to glide easily along the skin with or without massage lotions or oils. Each massager can be held easily in the palm of your hand and the texture also allows for a solid grip when using the thin, pointed ends for very focused pressure.

Because of their size and the elegance of the design, the Contour Q massagers are excellent choices for travel. They fit easily into all but the smallest purses or bags. Even were they to be discovered, the set is something that would draw admiring looks (see above for a reminder of how f-ing elegant they are) rather than weirded-out stares.

The Contour Q set is waterproof and compatible with all lubricants. Ceramic holds temperature very well and the massagers can be heated or cooled by placing them in hot or cold water. It's also possible to cool the massagers by putting them in the refrigerator. It is, however, not recommended that you heat up the Contour M massagers in the microwave.

After use, wash the massagers with soap and water and dry thoroughly before storing them. Although ceramic is very durable, it is also possible to chip the massagers by bumping them against each other or another hard object/surface. For this reason you may consider storing them in their original box or placing them in individual cushioned bags or any other soft container.
Experience
Consumers looking through the Jimmyjane line of massage instruments are certainly spoiled for choice, but given the range's variety, that final choice may be harder than expected to make. While I can't speak to the qualities of the Contour I, I have tried both the Contour M and the Contour Q and think a quick comparison might be helpful.

The broad base and long lines of the Contour M are particularly well suited for overall body massage. The four "prongs" at the base of the Contour M do allow for deeper and more focused massage work (if you and/or your partner can handle the pressure), but the massager on the whole is much more of a generalist than geared towards any specific purpose. The Contour M is also best used with a partner. While it was possible to give myself a halfway decent shoulder massage with the Contour M, it was impossible to take full advantage of the long strokes required to really make the Contour M's design features shine. With a partner, however, I absolutely melted.

In comparison, the Contour Q set of massagers are much more flexible in their usage. They can be rolled or rubbed along the body with the same long strokes that you use with the Contour M. They can also be used effectively in a much smaller area. While they are excellent for use with a partner, they have the added benefit of also being great for using solo. I gave myself a surprisingly pleasant foot massage simply by rolling my soles over the massagers. By taking one of the massagers in between my palms and rolling it back and forth, I also gave myself a nifty and quick hand massage.

It's impossible to go wrong with any of the Jimmyjane massagers, but giving your needs and interests some additional thought may help ensure that you do make the choice that's best suited to your needs and interests.

I love how the M and Q's can be used together, too. I neeeeeeeed these!

    Good review. They sound luxurious.

Why did you rate them four stars? Nothing in your review sounded as if they could either be improved or worked on. Even the price sounds reasonable.

Agreeing with Sir. And I didn't know they could be used together - that's awesome.

Carrie Ann - Thanks so much for pointing out that the M and Q can be used together. I can't believe I missed that!

Sir - The 4/5 star distinction is one of my personal quirks as a reviewer. I've never seen any set of standards as to what each star represents, so I created my own. Very good toys always get 4 stars for me. I tend to save the 5 stars rating for toys that completely blow my mind, open up a completely new way of looking at sex, are super innovative, etc.

Most welcome. Smile I figure not everyone is a freak like me, scouring the manufacturer sites incessantly. Heh.

Definitely lusting over these! I have little hands with long fingers, so sometimes I don't have the power needed for an awesome massage and they look like they'd fit nicely in my hand as well. Smile

Oo, so cute! I definitely want some. My hands tire quickly during massage so these would be great.

Ahh, alright. That's what I had figured it was for. I do not vote that way, so I sometimes get confused at that. Thank you!

We have the Contour M & Q. We love the M. However we found that although we could use the Q that is ribbed with the M - it rotates nicely. The Q with bumps is too large in diameter - the pumps catch on the inside of the M preventing it from rotating - making it just drag along - not pleasant!

They do rather look like high end salt and pepper shakers. You definitely sparked my curiosity about these. Too bad they have been discontinued.

They sound amazing! Why is it that the coolest products get discontinued? :/
