Pick Your Own Scent... Or Not

Completely unscented and 100% oil, this product allows you to decide what scent your partner will associate with your evening. It's slippery and slick; a little goes a long way, except on someone with dry skin. It doesn't absorb completely, but it washes off easily enough. All in all, we really enjoy this product.

Use

Do you have allergies to scents or scented oils, but would love a slippery, sensual body massage from your partner? Want to be able to choose the fragrance of your massage without having to buy a billion different bottles of the same oil? Having trouble finding the exact scent in a massage oil, but know how to make it with your own essential oil mix? Or maybe you just want the massage without the scent!

This oil is great for all of those situations. Sensual massage without the aroma allowing you to decide what fragrance your partner will associate with that sensual evening you've got planned.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

If you've ever used Kama Sutra's Sensual Massage Oil, this oil has a similar consistency, which makes sense since they're made with pretty much the same oils.

It's thin and almost watery, yet slippery and oily, too. I find myself having to use a lot, but M's a big guy, and his skin seems to just soak up the extra moisture like a sponge (Have I mentioned he's not a huge water drinker?).

The flip-top lid is easily maneuvered with one hand, making pouring the oil into the other hand a piece of cake. For the most part, it doesn't dribble down the side, even when you're finished with it. It does have a tendency to run if you pour too much in one spot, but even the stickiest of liquids does that.

Taste / Aroma

There is no scent or flavor to this massage oil at all. None. You know how unscented products usually have the tiniest of "fresh and clean" odors? This massage oil doesn't even have that. It is completely unscented. Completely.

Maybe I can say it a couple more times, eh?

Performance

The oil never really absorbs completely, so you have to wash it off. It's not real difficult to do, but it's hard enough that it gives me an excuse to exfoliate his back afterward (M's got acne.). And what's funny is, generally speaking, his breakouts clear up for a little while after I massage his back and exfoliate. So I should probably be doing it more. I'm not suggesting it as an alternative to acne treatment. I just think the majority of M's problem is dehydration. But I'm no dermatologist.

Once you begin massaging, it tends to last a while and remains slick. A little goes a long way...except on M. Like I said, his skin seems to soak it up pretty quickly, so I have to reapply.

I was surprised to find this oil completely unscented, but I'm glad it is. It allows me to make the aroma of each massage fit the mood I'm trying to elicit from M exactly.

Packaging

This massage oil comes in a recyclable plastic bottle with a flip-top lid. On the front is the Better Sex Essentials label and on the back is a list of ingredients.

I've been having issues with the BSE silicone lube bottle leaking, so I'd suggest storing this bottle in a plastic bag or always upright just to be on the safe side.

    • Easy to use / dispense

Special Features

Ingredients: Golden jojoba oil, Sweet almond oil, Olive oil, Sunflower oil, Safflower oil

Remember how, up there, I was telling you that there's no scent? This is exactly what I was hoping for.

Why? Cause that means I can make my own scent with this massage oil every single time I use it...and I do.

How? I pour the amount of oil I want to use in my hand (or in a small bowl or cup), and then add a few drops of whatever essential oil I want to use and stir. Because this massage oil is made completely of oil, the essential oil blends in beautifully.

Just so you know: The process through which I decided this would be safe consisted entirely of my own educated guesses and hemming and hawing over it with CarrieAnn. This is not an approved method of use. If you've had previous bad experiences with essential oils, please don't try this method. If you're unsure, spot test, like with everything else.
