Cupid's collection - sensual kit discontinued by Kama Sutra - review by Rin Rin

Cupid's Collection is a nice little set for a romantic evening. The set may be small but it creates a very sensual and passionate setting when combined with the softly scented petals, the soft blindfold and the sensual feather duster and powder.



I enjoy this set best for foreplay. The feather duster feels divine across your skin, the rose petals create a romantic mood, the blindfold enables a sense of mystery about what your partner is doing, and the powder is not only delicious but leaves you feeling smooth and velvety.

A downside to the powder is that it will leave you feeling sticky if your partner ends up licking/kissing it off you. The powder is also very fine and tends to get all over the place. It is also a it difficult to remove it from the feathers of the duster.

The feather duster and powder are the best products in this little kit. The feathers are of a great quality. They are soft and smooth, not scratchy or itchy at all! The feather duster is small and fits easily into the palm of my hand.



The powder can be a bit unpredictable. I'm a newbie to handling powders. The powder is easy to spread across the skin and leaves you feeling smooth, silky and tasting divine. The powder resembles baby powder in its consistency and application. It does not have a shimmer to it.

Ingredients: Modified Corn Starch, Glucose, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Honey, Silica, Honey Extract, Sodium Saccharine, Fragrance, Sodium Benzoate, Amyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Alcohol, Eugenol, Hydroxy Citronellol, Benzyl Salicylate, Geraniol, Linalool, Citronellol, Benzyl Benzoate.

The blindfold is made out of a satin-like polyester. It feels soft and slides over your skin easily. The material is soft and slightly padded in the part that goes over your eyes. The padding does a very good job blocking out the light. At about 52 inches long in its entirety, the blindfold's long ties with their satin-like material can make tying the blindfold a bit difficult. The quality of the material left a bit to be desired considering the price of the kit. The biggest pro is that the blindfold is tied on therefore it can be adjusted easily to any partner's unique head size. The blindfold does move a bit once tied on, although it did stay in place.

My set had 34 rose petals included. The rose petals are crafted from a velvety fabric. Roughly a two-thirds of the petals are veined realistically, the other third are smooth and far more velvet-like to the touch. All of the petals are are softly scented with a faint floral scent. I had to pull many of mine apart in order to get a good picture of them. The edges are also fraying quite a bit, I worry if they were used in the tub that they would fall apart soon after.

The rose petal fits in the palm of my hand comfortably, a little larger than a real rose petal.

The scent of the rose petals is very soft. It is not overpowering but can easily be smelled if laying near them on the bed. It is an almost floral-like scent, it reminds me a lot of the powder it comes with actually.

The powder has a soft sweet scent as well. I didn't consider it to be overpowering at all either. I barely can taste the powder. The taste reminds me of a much less sweet pink nesquick mix.

The blindfold and red drawstring pouch were not scented.

Strawberry Honey Dust Powder: I still have quite a bit of the powder left; which is great because it was my favorite part of the set. I have enough to use it a few more times if I'm careful with how much I use up each time. A small warning though, it's easy to pick up too much powder on the feather duster; I'd recommend shaking the duster out over the bag in order to get any excess poder off the duster. Otherwise the powder will come up in a puff of fine dust and get all over the place. After using the powder, I had to wash the it off in the shower. It became sticky once it was mixed with saliva. It washed off very easily and quickly in the shower; no scrubbing required (then again I did not cake the powder on either). I believe it could be removed easily with a washcloth if only a small area were covered in powder to begin with. However be aware that the powder is very fine and prone to puffing up in little dust clouds. Try to stick to small amounts or it will cover you, your partner, and your entire bed. I ended up washing my sheets afterwards (the powder isn't grainy and uncomfortable but I'm a bit OCD and it bothered me to have it everywhere; even in the small amounts and areas that it spread out in); they did not stain or discolor my sheets in any way though.

Feather Duster: The feather duster is another of my favorites in this set. It's just the right size for my little hands; though it's on the small side in my partner's larger hands. The feathers are much softer than they appear in the picture, perhaps I was expecting rougher edges from such realistic feathers. The duster didn't need to be cleaned extensively after the first use. I managed to get most of the dust out by shaking it out over the sink when I was trying to clean it off. I imagine it would eventually become a pain to shake out the powder from the feathers (some did stick to it after using it). I tried not to get the feathers wet, I didn't want a sticky residue to build up on the feathers' edges. I'd like it to stay soft and lovely as long as possible.

Blindfold: Nothing remarkable or outstanding about the blindfold. It works well enough to do its job, the material is cheap and a few strings are fraying from the bottom. It was easy to spot clean after playing with it though. The small amount of powder that got on it was easily smoothed out of the material with my fingers. If it were better constructed I'd feel braver about sticking it in th washing machine, as it stands I'll be hand washing it should it become dirty.

Rose Petals: The rose petals held up nicely after spreading them out over the bed. They still smell fantastic and they fit easily back into the little plastic canister they were originally packaged in. I will eventually move them to an air tight container to preserve their fragrance; they'd probably be fine in their current container but I'd like to stay on the safe side.

The blindfold, drawstring pouch, feather duster and rose petals can be reused. Everything worked just like I expected it to.

The poduct is packaged in a compact red box. Everything is held in place by a plastic tray in order to keep everything in place.







There were no instructions included in the set.

The cute red packaging looks lovely. All of the products inside are arranged in a visually aesthetic design, clearly displaying everything without losing its composition. The set would make a romantic gift for a significant other. Everything inside the package is gender friendly, making it a great choice for any couple.

I personally thought that for the price it's listed at that the kit is relatively small in size, I would highly recommend it as a 'starter set' for anyone who is contemplating trying some of the Kama Sutra products!

I really loved the powder, I would have preferred getting more of it though. Another bonus would have been to get a more durable container than the plastic bag and little drawstring pouch that came along with it. I would have liked having a better way to store it without fear of having it open and get all over the place.
