Wet lubricant sample kit - lubricant discontinued by Wet Lubricants - review by Eva Schwaltz

This is a neat sample kit with some of the different wet lubricants. I got seven kinds, but some people have gotten only three. The kit contained one-time use packets of: Synergy Cool Tingle, Kiwi Strawberry flavored water-based gel lubricant, Wet Original Water Based, Ecstasy X-tra Cooling Sensation Silicone, Wet Platinum Silicone, Wet Together (His and Hers), Wet Together Ultimate (His and Hers). I’ll give a brief look of each of the lubes, and some comments.

1. Synergy Cool Tingle:
“Introducing Wet Synergy + Cool Tingle, the new
hybrid lubricant from Wet, trusted maker of the world's best selling intimacy gels. New liquiSatisfaction Technology delivers a soothing, cooling cushion of gel that transforms into a silky layer of tingling liquid lubrication. Hydrating formula delivers long lasting moisture with the easy clean up of a water-based gel. Enhance your romance with the added sensation of Cool Tingle.”

Product ingredients: Glycerine, Deionized Water (Aqua), Dimethiconol, Sodium Polycrylate, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Trideceth-6, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, Pentylene Glycol, Peppermint

Personal comments: It looks like there’s a lot in this packet, but the lube is very thick. I’d say you get a good amount. The cooling sensation is quite intense, and for me, lasted about 20 minutes, so this is definitely long lasting. Getting a large bottle of this stuff is worth it, considering you only need a tiny amount to get such long lasting results. It tastes like mint candy. I normally don’t like minty stuff, but this I can tolerate. It absorbs nicely in the skin without becoming sticky. It also washes off easily, and makes my skin feel super soft. I’m really glad I got to try this one out.

2. Kiwi Strawberry flavored water based gel lubricant:
Product ingredients: Deionized water (Aqua), Glycerin, Cabomer, PEG-400, flavor (Aroma), Propylene Glycol, Aspartame, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Sodium Benonate, Methylparaben, Tetrahydroxypropyl, Ethylenediamine, Tetrasodium EDTA, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice (Aloe Barbadensis), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Citric Acid.

Personal comments: This tastes good, but it’s hard to keep it in one place because it is so runny. To me it just tastes like strawberries, which is good, but I didn’t notice the kiwi at all. This would be an excellent oral lube if it were thicker because it is basically like juice. I don’t know why aloe is in here, it doesn’t really make the lube any better. It becomes very sticky when it dries, but it easily washes off with water.

3. Wet Original:
“Use Wet Original as needed to supplement your natural moisture, enhance intimacy, lubricate latex condoms, and facilitate easy insertion of medical devices. To relieve personal dryness, apply a small amount of Wet Original to the area of the body you wish to lubricate. Reapply as desired. Harmless if ingested. Easily washes away with warm water. Store at controlled room temperature 59 to 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C).”

Product ingredients: Deionized Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Carbomer, PEG, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Sodium Benzoate, Methylparaben, Tetrahydroxypropyl Ethylenediamine, Tetrasodium EDTA, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice (Aloe Barbadensis), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Citric Acid.

Personal comments: Interesting how they added a little blurb about insertion of medical devices. This lube is very thin and runny, and doesn’t stay in place very well. Gravity has a lot of control over this one. It tends to dry up quickly and become a little sticky, but it seems like a little saliva could reactivate it. This lube has a very light, sweet taste, but it doesn’t linger. I wouldn’t have trouble engaging in oral play with it. Most toys I use have a lot of drag, and I don’t feel like this lube will perform very well for me. Everyone’s experiences are different, so you may end up loving this lube.

4. Ecstasy Xtra Cooling Sensation Silicone:
“Herbal Blend.
Thrills and Excites.
More Pleasure.”

Product ingredients: Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Phenyl Trimethicone, Mentha Pipenta (Peppermint) Extract, Ptychopetalum Olacoides (Muira Puama) Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger Root) Extract, Passiflora Incarnata (Passion FLower) Extract, Ginko Biloba Extract, Tumera Diffusa (Mexican Damiana) Leaf Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, C12-15 Alkyl Benzonate/Finsolv TN, Isohexadecane, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Vitis Vinifera (Grape Seed Extract), Phenylethylamine.

Personal comments: There are a lot of ingredients in this lube, but you would never know it. It is very light, powdery, and absorbs quickly. Maybe it was the small amount in this packet, but I found it dried up too quickly. The lube has a minty smell and taste, but I wouldn’t do oral with it because the silicone ingredients are very noticeable. It produces a cooling sensation, but it only lasted 10 minutes, if that, so if you had a bottle of this stuff, you’d have to keep reapplying. The texture is very silky and smooth, so if you love silicone lubes with extra sensation, then give this a shot.

5. Wet Platinum Silicone:

Product ingredients: Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Phenyl Trimethicone, Tocopheryl Acetate.

Personal comments: I’m not a huge fan of silicone lubricants because they feel so artificial to me. If I had to choose a silicone lube though, I’d go with this. The lube is pretty thin, and easy to spread around. It feels a lot like ID Millennium. It has no taste, and has a nice long-lasting slick texture. It made my skin feel really soft, and I didn’t feel like I needed to wash it off.

6. Wet Together:

Product ingredients:
His (Heats): Glycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate).

Hers (Tingles): Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Phenyl Trimethicone, Tocopheryl Acetate, Peppermint Extract.

Personal comments: I didn’t experience much sensation from each of these lubes. They were quite thin, being about the same consistency as the Wet Original. They also became a little sticky when they dried, and didn’t taste bad. If you are sensitive to tingly sensations, this lube will probably give you enough sensation without being too overpowering. They tasted slightly minty, and washed off easily.

7. Wet Together Ultimate:
“Become ONE....together.”

Product ingredients:
His (Enhancement): Glycerin, Propolyne Glycol, Benzoic Acid, Sodium Benzonate, Hydroxyethlcellulose, Tocopherol, Aloe Barbadensis, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Arginine(L), MenthaPiperita Oil, Water (Aqua), Xanthan Gum, Eupatorium Rebaudianum Bertoni Leaf Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylexlglycerin.

Hers (Pleasure): Glycerin, Propolyne Glycol, Benzoic Acid, Sodium Benzonate, Hydroxyethlcellulose, Tocopherol, Aloe Barbadensis, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Niacinamide, MenthaPiperita Oil, Water (Aqua), Xanthan Gum, Eupatorium Rebaudianum Bertoni Leaf Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylexlglycerin.

Personal comments: These lubes produced a lot more sensation than the Wet Together. I didn’t feel any warming from the His, but it sure had a wild taste. Hers had a cooling sensation, but it only lasted about 5 minutes. They were both thicker than the Wet Together lubes, and almost as thick as the Synergy. The Wet Together lubes tasted a lot better than the Ultimate, but the Ultimate worked better as lubes.

Each of the packets contains warnings such as keep out of reach of children, store at room temperature, and clean spills immediately.

My Liberator Throe came in handy for testing these lubes. I wish the lubes were packaged differently because ripping them open resulted in lube getting everywhere. There are tiny tubes that are made specifically to hold the exact same amount, and it would make things much less messy. Those of you who have cats might be familiar with the one-time flea treatment that comes in little tiny tubes, and I think that would be perfect for a kit like this. All that aside, the kit introduced me to lubes I probably would have never tried otherwise. I would have liked to try the Synergy without any sensation, but I really liked the Cool Tingle. If you are curious about different lubes, and you have the extra dollar at checkout, I think this kit will help you decide which one you like.

It obviously didn't take me long to get through this sample pack of lubes, but I really enjoyed my time trying these out. This is a good set to get if you are new to lubes, and want to see which ones you would like best.
