Divine nectars flavored lubricant - lubricant discontinued by Kama Sutra - review by kitty377

I purchased Kama Sutra's Devine Nectars in Strawberry Kiwi because I have never tried a water based lube or a flavored lube, so why not try them at the same time? The only lube I've ever used is KY intrigue, which is silicone based. I think this product would work for anyone who wants a water based lube for solo or couple play - especially if you need water based lube for silicone toys. Devine Nectars smells really yummy but, the taste is actually really strange. I think I prefer my boyfriend's natural flavor over this lube. Therefore, I would not recommend it for oral sex, its not going to make anything taste like candy.

The bottle claims the product is "Dermatologist Tested. Allergy Tested." and this seems to be true. I have sensitive skin and really can't handle heavily scented lotions or body washes because I get itchy and painful reactions. This lube is rather gentle and I don't hesitate putting it on my intimate areas.

Devine Nectars isn't as thick as my KY Intrigue but it isn't too thin. It may require a little more product than would be necessary with a silicone based lube, but that shouldn't be a problem since it comes in a large 5 ounce bottle. For a long time, the only lube I used was spit because I had never tried toys and none of my partners thought it was necessary to have real lube (or we were using lubricated condoms). My current boyfriend has always insisted on not using lube because it makes things "too slick", but eventually I decided we should try some and I've had such positive effects. I don't get sore so fast, it’s great! This lube doesn't make anything too slippery which I like because I want to be able to feel the sex. To all the guys who think that lube takes away too much friction, coming from a girl that gets sore fast, lube is a good thing. You don't have to use half the bottle or anything, just enough to make insertion easier. It makes a world of difference.

When I squirted a pea sized amount on my hand and tilted it, the lube stayed put pretty well. Something I noticed was that when I put it on a toy, or on skin, it doesn't make an even layer of lube - it sort of gathers into tiny little spots of lube. I don't consider this a good or bad thing since it doesn't effect performance, but I think its a good way to describe how it initially spreads. It's easy to pour but doesn't come gushing out of the bottle like water. It is a little stickier than a silicone lube, but it’s not bad.

The taste of Devine Nectars is actually unpleasant. I put some on the back of my hand, spread it around, and then took a little taste and I was not a fan. I would never actually use this as an oral sex enhancer, unless I was looking for a chemical taste. A great way to describe the taste is when you buy a scented product that smells amazing but if, for example, you accidentally got a taste of it you want to rinse your mouth out. It's just not something I want in my mouth. It doesn't taste natural at all.

The aroma of Devine Nectars is actually amazing! Very fruity and sweet/tangy, but not very strong. I have to be a few inches away to even smell it. I actually like that it isn't strong smelling because I get sick from smells (i.e. the girl with pungent perfume). I just can't handle anything that's even the slightest bit overwhelming. This scent isn't something that's going to get "old" fast, since it’s nice and light.

Devine Nectars easily met my requirements for a good lube with regards to how long it lasted. It serves it's purpose well, making insertion much more comfortable and preventing too much friction. After about 10 minutes it is almost totally absorbed into the skin, but by then my natural lubrication is increasing so I don't find it necessary to reapply.

It really doesn't need to be washed off since it absorbs pretty well. There are a few great things about Devine Nectars, it comes in a big bottle that doesn't leak, it works well, and smells great. The only bad thing is that it doesn't taste very good.

I think it should be noted that this bottle is great. It doesn't leak like my KY Intrigue. I live 2 1/2 hours away from my boyfriend. I'm in college and he lives in my home town, and I really like things that are travel friendly. My other lube has to be wrapped in paper and put into a plastic bag so that it doesn’t leak on anything. Since Devine Nectars has a secure snap top, it doesn't leak.

Overall, I have enjoyed Devine Nectars. I'm really not that upset that it tastes like chemicals, since I really don't need a flavored lube. I really needed a good leak proof bottle and quality lube, and that's what you get. The lube works great and isn't very messy which I like a lot.
