Love liquid peppermint - lubricant discontinued by Kama Sutra - review by mpfm

Peppermint Love Liquid is a water-based vaginal lubricant by the Kama Sutra Company. It is designed to create a tingly exciting feeling during intercourse. The peppermint brings a cool and refreshing tingle to the genitals. Many lubricants claim to bring out either a warming or cooling sensation. This does produce a cooling without any warming sensation that lasts throughout sex. It is also good for oral sex. Since it is water-based it could be used on toys.

The ingredients are: Water, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxy Ethylcellulose, Tetrasodium EDA, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, and Flavor.

It claims to be dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic. However, it does contain glycerin. If you are sensitive to glycerin avoid this product. I did not have any adverse reactions to this.

The lube is clear, thin, and runny with a hint of sticky. It absorbs easily into the skin and feels natural. The bottle has a flip cap that can be poured out. The only downside is that it does come out very fast. Be careful pouring it out. I found if I flipped the bottle until it was parallel to my hand and gently squeezed the bottle, I could control the amount very well. It could potentially create a mess if spilled or lost in the bed covers. I took off one star due to this flaw in the bottle design.

Peppermint Liquid has a pleasing minty taste and aroma very similar to mint gum. The minty taste is a bit overpowering if tasted straight out of the bottle, but who drinks it straight anyway. It was very pleasant tasting during oral sex. I didn't notice any bitter or chemical taste.

This worked extremely well. It does create a cool tingly feeling. The cool sensation dissipated slightly but not completely during our lovemaking. It was very nice feeling that rush of coolness with each thrust. We did not have to reapply during our 30 min sessions. The taste enhanced oral sex as well. It left that cool sensation both in genitals and mouth. It absorbed into the skin very well. Afterwards, I didn't notice any residual stickiness from the lube and cleaned up just like normal.

This arrived in a black box with a cut out front to reveal the product. Inside the bottle was shrink wrapped in plastic. The bottle is light blue with some contrasting black on the flip cap and label. It's aesthetically pleasing and isn't automatically clear what it is. I think it is discreet enough to leave sitting out. The bottles size and shape reminds me of a very small sized stick deodorant. As stated above the flip cap can be tricky. It would be very easy to create a big mess. Be very careful dispensing this lube.

I first heard about this lube a few years ago on a discussion board for vaginismus. Vaginismus is a condition where the vaginal muscles tense up causing pain and preventing intercourse. Additionally, sometimes the muscles burn during attempted intercourse. Treatment usually includes regular dilating and pelvic floor exercises before transitioning to intercourse. This lube was recommended when transitioning to intercourse because of its cooling properties. As a former vaginismus sufferer, I was curious about this product. I did find that it was very cooling without any warming effect at all. That is important. Vaginismus sufferers do not want anything that adds warming tingles to their already burning vagina. The sensation with this lube was pleasant and long lasting. I have been cured for many years, and don't experience burning muscles anymore, so I cannot comment on whether or not this counteracted any burning. However, I do think it would be a good product for those who experience burning muscles during intercourse. It won't solve vaginismus on its own, but it could help alleviate burning uncooperative muscles. I recommend this to anyone struggling with vaginismus.


As for me, I love this cool lube and expect to always have a bottle available. It's an easy way to add some extra zip to sex.
