I Said What What, In The Butt

It's condom friendly, it's silicone friendly, and not only is it butt friendly, but it's also vagina friendly! The thick water based formula stays where you put it until you spread it around. You seriously can't go wrong with this lube.

Use

This lube was designed specifically for anal use, but don't let that fool you, it can also be used vaginally, provided your vagina is ok with glycerin and parabens. Being water based means that you can safely use it on just about any toy you can find, but unlike most water based lubes, its gel-like consistency means it stays exactly where you put it.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This stuff has the consistency of hair gel. It's pretty thick, which can make it harder to get out of the bottle, but you can get around that somewhat by storing the bottle upside down. Otherwise the typical violent shaking like you do to get the last bit of ketchup or conditioner will do the same trick. Either way, it won't all come flying out, and it's really easy to get out just the right amount.

It does stay in place nicely, but if you put it on a really warm surface (such as a body) it might start to 'melt' and slide a little bit. But it normally takes a minute or so to reach that point.

On the fingers it feels thick and goopy in a really good way, and does feel a bit sticky when spread on the skin, but it never feels greasy. Without washing, the sticky feeling generally goes away on its own once the lube is completely dry.

Taste / Aroma

There are two versions of this, the cherry scented, and the original unscented. I've got the unscented one and true to its word, it really is unscented. I rubbed some on my arm and tasted it, for the sake of science..., and while it wasn't the most unpleasant thing I've ever tasted, it certainly wasn't all that pleasant either. Not so much a distinguishable taste, but there was a 'tang' of sorts. It's really hard to describe, but long story short, try to avoid ingesting this.
    • No smell

Performance

Ok, so it doesn't work that well in the shower, but if you avoid the stream of water, you'll keep enough lube on to make your play session at least a lot more comfortable than using nothing at all. Outside of the water, it's great. Every time we've used it, it's lasted the whole time. If you're using a toy with a more realistic finish, or a penis with no condom, the lube can sink in and require reapplication.

I've always been able to stick out the 5-10 minutes it takes for the lube to stop feeling gross and sticky the couple times it has, but if you want to wash it off right away, a washcloth with some warm water and soap will take it right off.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Gets sticky for a short period of time

Packaging

If you don't want people to know you're playing with anal lube, hide the bottle. You could also peel off the front and back labels.

The front says "anal lube" in big bold letters, and tells you it's water based and 6 fluid ounces. The back also says "anal lube" in fairly noticeable letters, and also lists the ingredients: water, glycerin, propylene glycol, hydroxyethylcellulose, diazolidinyl urea, methylparaben, propylparaben. **Note, if you have sensitivities or allergies to glycerin or parabens, please find another lube.

There is a small red cap you'll have to remove from the inside of the neck before using, but that's really easy, just unscrew the whole lid, lightly grab the edges, and tug lightly. To use every time after that, just pop down one side to pop up the other, like a shampoo bottle.
    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Does not leak
    • Not discreet

Experience

I'm not the biggest anal fan out there, but I do enjoy it every now and then. This lube didn't make me want to forsake all other lubes forever, but I haven't grabbed anything else for anal play since I got it. It works well with condoms, it works well with toys that have a smooth slick finish. It does soak into the skin really nicely which is both good and bad, because if he's in my butt and not using a condom, the skin on skin kinda soaks up some of the lube. If this happens to you, just make sure to stop and reapply.

All in all, we both really enjoy this lube. Both our butts are happy and we both recommend to others.
Follow-up commentary
This doesn't come out all the time, but it's still working just fine when it does. There doesn't appear to have been much of a change in the consistency or anything like that. I have found that I sometimes have to pick dried lube out of the opening, but it hasn't been anything that's really irritated me at all.

I agree with Sam (aka Julia) and other reviewers of "Anal Lube"when they say that it's hard to get out the bottle because of its thickness. (Sam: "It's pretty thick, which can make it harder to get out of the bottle, but you can get around that somewhat by storing the bottle upside down. Otherwise the typical violent shaking like you do to get the last bit of ketchup or conditioner will do the same trick. ")

I tried to apply Anal Lube with a "Lubricant Launcher," a syringe-like device for "injecting" lubricant in desired spots, to get around "ketchup bottle shaking." It works, but unloading and reloading the syringe becomes a chore. And it's another item I'd have to clean.

(When a Tantus "Severin Large" butt plug got stuck inside my rectum, a "Lubricant Launcher" was mightily handy to apply Anal Lube around the Severin's neck. The additional Anal Lube allowed me to twist the Severin and pull it out, in a slow, but controlled manner. It's important with all anal plugs, especially larger ones like the Severin Large, to control their removal from your rectum. If you let them "pop" out uncontrollably, you could hurt yourself and damage delicate rectal tissue, as well as your sphincters. And you'll get very sore down there.)

I recently bought a bottle of "Maximus." It cost more than Anal Lube, but it's as thick as Anal Lube, and works just as well. But Maximus can be conveniently dispensed from a pump bottle. I think when I use up Maximus, I will "recycle" its pump bottle with Anal Lube.

Of course, you don't have to buy a bottle of Maximus to put Anal Lube inside a pump bottle. Just buy a pump bottle for Anal Lube and hopefully, you'll have no more need for "ketchup bottle shaking."

    Check it out.
