Cooling masturbator lube - lubricant discontinued by Evolved Novelties - review by Munko

This product is probably best used either during sex, or with a masturbatory toy. We used it during foreplay and I had to re-apply on my partner several times as he would become sticky or dry when exposed to the air. However, when used on myself, it lasted as long as we needed it to with one application, and it also lasted during actual sex. It does say it is specially formulated for sleeve enhancement, and I could see it being useful with sleeves or other toys. But not necessarily on it's own for masturbation, particularly for men.

Because this product does contain methyl and have a cooling or tingling sensation, it may cause irritation. The product recommends you discontinue use and consult a physician if this occurs. We had no irritation or adverse reactions to the product.

Because it's water based it can be used with condoms and most toy materials. I wouldn't recommend it for shower use as it's already quite thing and would wash away rather quickly.

We both found this lube to be quite thin, but not runny. We typically use silicone lubricants, so for a water based lubricant this felt a bit thicker than usual, but still thin enough. It was fairly slippery initially, but does become sticky quite quickly as it's exposed to air. It is easy to use and apply, not messy and the bottle tip is small enough that only the amount you need comes out.

This lube does smell like menthol when you get really close up to smell it, but I didn't notice an odor while we were using it, only when smelling it in the bottle. Taste wise, it does have a bit of a taste and tingling sensation in the mouth, but nothing overly unpleasant or strong. About what you would expect from something with a menthol smell, cool and tingly but not over powering or long lasting.

This product does as it promises, it definitely provides a cooling sensation. I found it to be overwhelming during foreplay when applied to myself (a female) I lost most feeling except "cold" and was really unable to enjoy any sort of stimulation from my partner. He on the other hand, felt it was cool, but not overly so. But he also did not feel it added a whole lot of extra to the manual stimulation I was providing. And the fact that it got sticky and dry quite fast, took away from the cooling sensation. I had to reapply 4 times in about 8 minutes, so it really did not last long enough on him at all. During intercourse the lube did last, it stayed slippery, but the cooling sensation quickly disappeared and it felt like any other lube after a minute or so. I was quite disappointed as I have been searching for a cooling lube that actually cools instead of tingles or burns like most others, but this lube was too cold when applied externally and didn't keep it's cool internally.

It didn't need to be washed off as it dried up quickly and I did not feel greasy or sticky afterwards. The packaging does say to clean with soap and water, or a toy cleaner. As usual with all toys, you will want to clean your toy after use, using soap and water or a toy cleaner.

In the future, we plan to add a bit of this lube to some of the lubes we already own, to see if we can cut down a bit on the cool sensation AND help it last longer. It may not be that great on its own, but I am still intrigued by it and am hopeful that I can find a way for us to both enjoy it!

The packaging for this lube is quite sleek and discreet. It's easy to use. The bottle looks and performs much like eye drops or crazy glue. Initially you unscrew the entire cap and remove a foil piece. After replacing the cap, you just twist the small tip and squeeze the lube out. It's not messy or difficult to open and close. No spills or runs down the bottle after we used it.
