Uneasy On The Taste Buds.

Toko Aroma Formula lube comes in six flavors and the one I'm writing this review about is Tangerines & cream. Toko lube is water based so its condom safe and sugar free so it’s not as harsh as other flavored lubes when it comes to using it for masturbation or intercourse. Since it is flavored it can also be used as an oral sex enhancing lube.

This lubricant is very runny and has a tendency to get a bit tacky after a little while, so I found myself needing to reapply it. I do have to admit though as a lube it felt nice and was gentle on my lady parts. Because of the thinness of the lube it tends to leak out of the bottle which makes for using it to become a bit messy, so use a towel on the bed if you don’t want a wet spot on the sheets.

Sadly this is one flavored lube that I just can not use for oral sex. Tangerines & cream immediately left a bitter taste in my mouth, and the after taste was no fun too. As for the smell it hit me as strangely medicinal almost like knock-off brand cough syrup. It's not a strong smell but its not pleasant and definitely doesn't smell like tangerines or cream for that matter.

I found out the hard way that if I didn't reapply Toko often it would become very sticky/tacky on my skin which wasn't a very pleasant feeling. Due to the lube being so thin it tends to leak out the top of the bottle and dribble onto the bottle which makes it very slippery to use and after I'm done I'm left washing not only myself but also the bottle so it won’t become sticky. For an oral enhancing lube I couldn't stomach the taste enough to use it and as for a regular lube I found Toko to be middle of the road.

It does contain Methylparaben which is a little concerning. If you have very sensitive skin, are allergic to Methylparaben, or believe that it is an endocrine-disrupting substance (verdict is still out on that last one) you should stay away from this lube also don't use if you have a glycerin allergy.

The artwork is absolutely lovely on this bottle, enough so that I don't mind leaving it out on my dresser when not in use. The bottle itself tends to leak a bit around the bottom of the cap but only if its squeezed while laying on its side, so if you are going to travel with it I recommend putting it in a plastic baggie first or changing to a travel bottle that doesn't leak.

While Toko Aroma is a relatively inexpensive flavored lube of average size (Around 5oz.) it is not worth the few dollars in saving when I dislike using it so. Even though I couldn't use Toko Aroma for oral sex I've found it works okay as a last resort lube when it comes to masturbation (with toys and without). I tend to use a lot more Toko Aroma then I do any other lube because it dries quickly and becomes tacky and adding more lube is the only way for the tackiness to go away. I have somewhat sensitive skin and haven't had any problems with irritation but I do have to wash myself and my toys with water and soap after use. Toy wipes and other types wet-wipes do not work at getting all the residue off of skin and silicon.

Toko Aroma has no dyes and its ingredients did not stain my sheets, toys, or clothing. Though I don't know if it would've stained these things if I hadn't washed them right away. I wont risk my sheets/blankets by letting the lube sit on them for a few days.
