Red fishnet garterbelt stockings - stockings discontinued by Leg Avenue - review by ~LaUr3n~

I love wearing sexy lingerie under my dresses, including garters and stockings, but I don't like that many can produce unsightly bumps under my tighter mini dresses. This Fishnet Garter-belt and Stockings from Leg Avenue is an excellent solution to that. It will keep the attached stockings up, keep "VLL" (visible lingerie lines) to a minimum, and look super sexy even just by itself. I am very pleased with this purchase.

*Overview:

This is a unique item from Leg Avenue. You get a garter-belt that is attached to a set of thigh high stockings. They cannot be detached or adjusted. Note that you do not receive the pair of panties that are on the model in the picture. The stockings have a closed toe and no backseam. They are one size fits most.

I purchased the black version. These also come in red and white.

*Material: Soft, stretchy, durable

These stockings are made of 100% nylon. The nylon is VERY soft and so is the lace. It's pretty rare to have a lace and fishnet feel pretty much the same softness, even if they are made from the same material. The lace is thin and somewhat see through where the pattern does not appear. The pattern is a large swirl and grouped small flower design. Little tear drop leaves are sprinkled throughout. The garter's lace and the top of the stockings have a different pattern, but it matches. This pattern has a repeating flower that looks like a lily in some ways. The material does not have any added support in the form of adhesive bands on the garter-belt or stockings.

The stockings have a really nice fishnet design to them. The shape and size is traditional.

*Design/craftsmanship: Good with some flaws

The garter's lace band is largely scalloped so the width is anywhere from 3 to 3 1/2". This band is sewn together with a single seam on one side. There is no distinguished front or back to the garter or stockings. I believe that because on one side the garters are sewn about 1/2" closer together that this might be best for being in the front. I wore this both ways and it didn't make that much of a difference on me, it might on others though.

The garters themselves are about 7/8" wide and 7 3/4" long. They attach to the lace band at the top of the stockings. There is no way to remove them or adjust them either. They are very stretchy though so the taller gals shouldn't have a problem. They attach to the front and back of the lace top on the stockings with is also scalloped and about 7/8" wide.

The stockings themselves are a bit shorter than what you might get if you just bought stockings themselves. For me, I usually wear stockings mid-high thigh. These are more mid to low-mid thigh length. The toes are closed and not reinforced.

I did notice some flaws. There are a lot of "string" type ends that hang off of various places where seams are sewn (Pic to come soon). They can be trimmed if you are careful.

*Cleaning/care/storage: Hand wash

This stocking and garter duo comes molded on a cardboard insert and folded as well. The insert slides into a slim cardboard box with pictures of a model wearing the stockings on it. The package can be reused if you take care of it. This makes it easier to find your stockings if you have a lot like I do. The back says to hand wash these stockings in warm water and to drip dry. Never iron them. If you have a lingerie bag, you can put these through the washer on cool, but I don't recommend the dryer. It may ruin the elastic. You can dry them by laying them flat.

*Sizing/Application: Good one size fits most piece for small-large sizes

This stocking and garter duo are "one size fits most". The packaging says that they will fit women weighing 90-160 pounds. I think that if you are of average height (somewhere between 5'3"-5'7") these stockings are good as a one size fits most piece. I weigh about 142, 5'6" height.

The thighs fit really well. The thigh size could probably fit up to 25". Where these fit me is about 22.5". The hips are the biggest worry though. Mine are about 38" and the garter fit me like a glove. Any larger and the band might dig into you. The band was very comfortable, and since I wear Victoria's Secret lace thongs, the band blended well with my underwear. Under my dresses, this set was pretty much seamless. I absolutely love that! Since the stockings don't go as high as most that I wear, I can't wear this with my shortest of dresses, but I am still really pleased.

It is a slight bit tricky putting these on so that everything lines up just right, but I got it on the second try and the first try the next time I wore this.

*Conclusion:

I am giving these stockings a shining 5 stars. It is so comfortable to wear and very practical for going out use. The materials are very comfortable and flexible. Cleaning wasn't an issue either. They keep their shape well too. I hope that the next product I try that is like this is just as much a pleasant experience.

I'm pretty impressed with these. I didn't expect them to last more than a few wears and washes, but they have. The material has gotten softer, but not weaker. The color has not faded either. I was able to snip off the lose ends with no fraying or problems. I'll totally get another pair when these do have their last wear.
