Cuban heel thigh high - thigh highs discontinued by Leg Avenue - review by mistressg

I loved these thigh highs when I first saw them. They had been on my wishlist for a while, and while I was recently ordering a few things for my friend for the holidays, I decided to pick up a little something for myself. I went through my wishlist and these were pretty cheap. Plus, I didn't have any Cuban-heeled hosiery but had been wanting some for a while. Then I remembered a certain flapper dress that I recently purchased, and thought these would just look perfect with it! And with a 1920s party coming up, I thought these could really make the outfit even better! So it was settled and I finally ordered them.

My only real concern about getting these was that they are mostly "nude". I have VERY pale skin, so nude-toned hosiery is not "nude" on me at all, and it usually looks brown and strange so I never wear it. In the photos on the product page, these stockings looked as though they would be very light and I hoped that they would be true to the photos. Here is an unedited (but slightly blurry) photo of my bare leg compared to the my other leg wearing one of thigh highs. The nude tone isn't as dark as nude so often is on my skin, which I like. However, I would like it if they were a bit lighter, more of a sheer white. That being said, these are probably the best "nude" stocking I've ever had in that they aren't incredibly dark and obvious.

My thighs were 20" around last I checked, though I think they may be a bit more than that now. I would guess somewhere around 22", give or take an inch. They are snug on my thighs, but not in an uncomfortable way. However, if my thighs were any bigger at all I would want these in a plus size, but they only seem to be available in this one size.

I really like the black toe detail, the material seems fairly rugged for hosiery so that it may not tear at the toes. However, the nude fabric is seems a lot more fragile, and like it could tear or snag easily so be careful with them. Here is a photo of the bottom of my foot in these thigh highs. I like that the backseam is not really wide so that it looks like a stripe, as with other stocking I have ordered. The backseam is exactly as I would expect a backseam to be. Because the fabric is very sheer and delicate, I would recommend hand-washing and air-drying only with these.

I like these, but I am not sure how often I will wear them. I think I like my other backseam thigh highs more. I think if they lighter I would like them more, but they are clearly not that dark at all. They just don't really "wow" me, so I'm not sure what I will want to wear them with. They are cute and I would love them if I saw them on someone, and you could really make put together an adorable retro outfit with these. But I'm not sure that they go with my flapper dress as much as I would like them to...maybe I'll just have to find some other hosiery on EF for that. :)

I don't like these more or less, I don't really love them or hate them...I feel very "eh" about them. They are nice, but I haven't gotten much wear out of them. I pulled them out the other day, but it was too cold to wear them. Besides, I find my black backseamed thigh highs more appealing because of how this nude shade looks against my super pale skin.
