Zebra bustier set - bustier discontinued by Seven 'til Midnight - review by Breas

When I had seen the zebra print bustier by Seven ‘till Midnight, I knew I wanted it. Then I seen the price, and knew I had to have it! The bustier is available in sizes S-3X/4X. The bustier comes with a black, basic thong, and detachable garter straps.

The bustier arrived packaged in a transparent, thick, sturdy plastic bag on a hanger. The plastic bag has a snap closure at the top, and would be great to keep to either store the bustier in for protection, or to store other items in. I plan on keeping the bag and throwing my matching undies in it so they are easy to find when I want to wear a lingerie piece. The plastic bag has a large cardboard insert inside of it that has a photo of the model wearing the bustier, the company name, and the product name on it. Below is a photo of the packaging.



I typically wear a size XL, but I’ve noticed that when buying bustiers or corsets, the chest is too large for me. I decided to order a size large of the zebra bustier, and I’m happy that I did. The corset does up in the centre back of the corset with hook and eye closures. There are three rows of eyes, and it fits me best on the first row of eyes (loosest fit). I would recommend to anyone interested in this bustier to order a size down. The criss-cross lace on the front is not adjustable either, so if the bustier is not tight, the lace will appear saggy. The front of the bustier has a very small amount of stretch to it, but the back material is extremely stretchy. I’ve taken measurements of the bustier lying flat, unstretched. The bustier was done up on the first row of eye closures (loosest fit). If you need additional measurements, please send me a message and I can get those for you.

There are 8 boning pieces in total; 4 in the front, 1 on each side, and 2 on the back. The boning is a flexible, plastic. There are no shoulder straps. The garter straps are adjustable and detachable. Since I like to wear these types of pieces out in public, I remove the garter straps. The fabric loops that you attach the garters to are on the inside of the bottom of the corset so if you take them off, it doesn’t look weird.

The G-string that the bustier comes with is not the same as the one in the stock photo. The one in the stock photo has a pink outline. The one I received is all black. There is a liner in the g-string, but other then that, there really isn’t anything special about it. It’s just a random, boring g-string. Then again, I consider it an added bonus… I didn’t purchase the bustier solely for the g-string. Below is a photo of the included g-string and a couple of the garter straps.



The care instructions on the tag in the bustier say to hand wash the bustier in cold water. The bustier should not be ironed or bleached, and should be line dried only.

As for my experience, I really did enjoy the bustier. I love the pattern, it fit well, and it’s just so darn cute. I do wish though that it came with attachable shoulder straps. It’s not a huge deal, but I prefer having straps to hold me up. Also, I would have preferred the bustier length to be a bit longer. In the photos you’ll see below, you can see my hip fat poking out because the bustier isn’t long enough to cover them. I’ll probably wear this out with a black long tube top underneath that way my chub is not exposed. You’ll also see in the photo of the back that because it is stretchy, the more it stretches, the lighter the zebra stripes become. It’s pretty stretched on me, and that is why the back colours look much lighter than the front.

The only real problem I had found when I was wearing it was that the inner material of the corset is quite rough. The coarse material on the inside of the bustier was only bothersome on my chest. It feels quite “scratchy” against the nipples, and not in a sexy way. This can be avoided by wearing a strapless bra with the bustier, or to wear nipple covers. It would have been nice if the company had added some padding, or a softer material at the inner chest area… but they didn’t; and because of this, they lose a star in my rating. If it were possible, I’d give the bustier a rating of 3.5, but I had decided on 4 because the price of $25.99 is ridiculously inexpensive.
