Black lace petticoat - petticoat discontinued by Coquette - review by nori

Good LORD does it look cute. The waistband portion of this skirt is slightly elastic, which is good for a personalized fit. I found the elastic to be a little weak though, were I much bigger, I would be worried about snapping the band if I was a little too rough with it. It can fit those of us who are both on the smaller side of XL, and the larger side as well. I’m a bit of a bigger girl, and I normally wear a size 24-26. And at first, I was a little hesitant about reviewing a size listed as ‘XL’ without any specifications for measurements. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this little skirt fit me perfectly. I have a lot of difficulty finding lingerie that’s able to fit me. This poofy, lacy miniskirt manages to flatter me, while still covering what it needs to. It closes with a little snap, but I find that I can just shimmy into it. (Which I prefer anyway.)

Despite showing this toy paired with undergarments, this listing is JUST for the petticoat. I like matching it with a sheer black thong I got from another lingerie set. It’s cute and flirty, and matches most black lacy bras I happened to own. And although I don’t have very many cute camisoles or sexy tops, I imagine this petticoat would also look excellent with that. I don't own very many short skirts, but this would also look cute worn underneath clothing. Eden lists this skirt as having a floral lace pattern. But I would have preferred to have a more distinct flower pattern, or less of one. It's a pretty design, but you need to really look at it to see the flowers.

This little petticoat is made from polyester, and is a little scratchy on the body. I found the texture of this lingerie to be a little distracting. I strive to buy only natural fibers, since I have extremely sensitive skin.( but this piece was cute enough to earn an exception.) the material of this little skirt really distracts from my ability to feel sexy while wearing it so I’m taking off a star.

This little skirt came packaged in a plain, unmarked plastic bag. It’s hanging on, possibly the strangest hanger I’ve ever seen. It’s thin plastic, and in the center is has a little heart, with the brand ‘Coquette’ Towards the outside, it has the little indents that most store-hangers include to help hold up clothes. But the bottom is a bit stranger. It has five little tabs, which allow for the skirt to be woven in and out of, to hang it up nice and neat. Unfortunately, the plastic was very brittle. It snapped very easily in my hands. (I have my own little hangers for my sexy outfits. So I didn't need it for the long run.) The packages does come with a little packet of Silica Gel. Please remember not to eat it!

The packing doesn't say much about the washing instructions. I fill a sink with lukewarm water, and a little bit of mild soap and gently hand wash it. I haven’t had much of a situation in which this petticoat needed a thorough washing, though. So I wasn’t dealing much with lube, sweat, etc. I would wash this gently and by hand regardless, with a very mild detergent. Since lace is pretty delicate, I would also hang this up to dry in a warm, sunny place.

I really like this lacy black petticoat. I think it looks sexy, It fits me nicely, and it's pretty easy to clean up. For the design, fit, and look of this; I would give this product 4/5 stars, and with the comfortableness of the scratchy polyester, this petticoat gets a 3/5 stars over all. It's a skirt I'll use when I'm in the mood for it, but it isn't one of my favorite pieces of lingerie.

I really, really love looking at myself in this lacy skirt. I wore it, for the first time, with a lacy camisole, and fingerless lacy glove. I felt sexy, confident, and playful in this. (and just a little bit vain for enjoying looking at myself!) I showed this skirt off for a good friend of mine, with a good response. I can't wait to have somebody to show this off for in a sexual sense. So Look for my follow up review on that. :]

It's not that I don't like the petticoat; it's just that I like it less. The way the fabric feels against me is actually a turn-off at this point. It's super scratchy and rough against my skin (especially if I shave my legs). It still looks fantastic, and I can wear it in combination with tights, but it's definitely lost some of its appeal for me.
