Babydoll criss cross straps and g-string - babydoll and panties set by Coquette - review by SMichelle

This stunning pink and black babydoll from Coquette is one of my all-time favorite pieces. Not only is it well made, but it's also extremely comfortable.

The great thing about this piece is that it looks sexy enough to wear to seduce your lover, yet it's comfortable enough to sleep in. Those of you who are daring could even make this work as a top; just wear it over a black camisole, and a pair of jeans. For me, it looks too much like lingerie to wear out, even over a camisole, but it does look absolutely adorable when worn as a top.

Now... lets get to discussing the basics.

What's Included:
This is a two piece set. It includes the darling pink and black babydoll, and the matching g-string.

Material and Care:
Both pieces of this set are made out of 82% Nylon, and 18% Spandex, exclusive of the trim.

The babydoll is pink with black trim. The pink fabric on the babydoll is mesh, and as such, it is very sheer, and very breathable. I love how the material feels against my skin; it's not the softest of mesh, but it's also not at all scratchy. It's a very comfortable, stretchy fabric.

The mesh feels very durable, and does not seem to snag easily.

The black trim of the piece is located around the very bottom, around the top, on the straps, and on the band that goes right under the bust.

The black band under the bust is a solid material, and so it is not see through at all. The band being opaque provides an interesting contrast with the sheer pink fabric. The black band feels very smooth to the touch. It is also very stretchy.

The black straps and neckline are made out of what feels like elastic.

The g-string is made out of the same pink mesh as the babydoll. Also, the straps on the g-string are made out of the same material as the straps on the babydoll.

As for washing, the tag recommends that you only handwash this set. Personally, I have washed this set on the delicate cycle of my washing machine, in a lingerie bag, many times. The piece has held up wonderfully.

Sizing:
Coquette has made this piece available in two sizes; one size fits most, and plus size. I ended up purchasing this in one size fits most. Now, I know what you're thinking: One size fits most means it won't fit you, right? Before you make that call, let me tell you, this piece is extremely stretchy, and it really should stretch to fit many sizes.

The one size fits most should fit someone with the following measurements:

Cup size: B
Bust: 34-40"
Waist: 26-32"
Hips: 36-40"

I typically wear a large C/small D cup, so my breasts are a bit larger than the size chart. My breasts do fit comfortably in this babydoll, though the piece does not offer a lot of support. It should be said that this piece is probably best suited to those with smaller breasts, simply due to the lack of support. That being said, this piece can fit D cups just fine.

Waist and hip measurements aren't really important with this babydoll, due to the style.

The matching g-string fit me okay, but it was a bit snug on my 40" hips. I don't see the g-string fitting anyone properly, as it seems to be an afterthought more than anything else.

Here are some measurements I took of the pieces:

G-string, across the waistband, laying flat, unstretched: 13"
G-string, across the waistband, laying flat, stretched: 22"

Babydoll, across the black band (underbust), laying flat, unstretched: 14"
Babydoll, across the black band (underbust), laying flat, stretched: 21"

The black band is about an inch and a half thick.

Design:
The straps of this babydoll are designed to go in a crisscross pattern across the wearers back. Unfortunately the straps are not adjustable.

The babydoll offers little to no breast support. There is no underwire, and absolutely no padding. The bust support that you do receive will come from the straps, and the black band that goes underneath the breasts.

The black band features an adorable pink bow. The bow is fairly small, and does not overwhelm the piece. Still, not everyone will like the bow. The bow is not meant to be removable, but you could probably remove it with a seam ripper if you wanted to. Personally, I think the bow is very cute.

The lower half the babydoll consists of one layer of pink mesh. This layer is meant to flow over your curves. The bottom of the babydoll is lined with black, which sort of pulls whole the look together.

The g-string is your basic g-string. There is, unfortunately, no pantyliner.

Packaging:
This piece came simply packaged in a cardboard envelope. The packaging had a photograph of the model on the front of it.

Quality:
Overall, the quality of the items is okay. The material feels to be high quality, and I imagine that it'll hold up well to long term use.

There were a few loose threads, but they were easily fixed.

I really love this babydoll. I wear it regularly to sleep in, and it's held up well.

That said, it's not the sexiest babydoll that I own. If you're going for the sexy feel, rather than the comfortable feel, I'd look for something else.
