Boyshort? I Think Not

These non-boyshort panties are a love shade of red and include a fine detail that stands out from others of it's kind. However I would like the Flower Lace Boyshort by Baci a lot more if it's name was changed as they are in no way, shape, or form boyshorts.

Overview
The first time I saw the Flower Lace Boyshort by Baci I was so excited. Here was a non-crotchless, non-g-string panty offered on Eden! Sure the models butt looked a little suspicious on the product page but I was willing to let it pass. I was just so happy this was available. Since then I’ve learned that while a product can be more stunning than in the pictures, if it looks suspiciously ill fitting one should steer clear.
Material and Texture
According to the tag located inside the panty, the Flower Lace Boyshort 90% Nylon and 10% Spandex. Given that these panties are not overly stretchy this estimation is probably correct. There is very little elasticity in the leg holes, 8 inches unstretched and 10 inches stretched, which leads me to believe that the majority of the Spandex is located at the waistband. The Nylon however runs along the entirety of the product, this material is soft and luxurious to the touch. This garment does contain a cotton crotch which is 4 inches long, a very nice feature for any panty since bacteria can fester without it.

Design and Craftsmanship
The Flower Lace Boyshort is only offered in one color on Eden. In this case it is red, yes red, not the wine-like color showcased on the model. Personally in terms of beauty I don’t think the product page is doing these justice. While this garment is sheer the floral lace detail, which contains flowers that look to be connect to one another by their red stems, is doubled up. The doubling only occurs where the flowers and stems are present, the space in between that is netted and easy to see through. In the middle of waistband there is a thin but long bow which measures at 2 3/4 inches diagonally. While I’m not usually a fan of bows this one didn’t bother me since it was so thin. The leg holes also have their own trimming that is designed to look like tiny flowers with a simulated ribbon going in between each flower. As for the craftsmanship while the Nylon is soft I have found it sturdy enough to toss in the washing machine and come out unscathed. Granted I’ve only worn these a few times so this could change with time. But for now I would say that not a thread is loose which leads me to believe this is a well made product.

Packaging and Cleaning
The Flower Lace Boyshort is double packaged. The first layer is a cardboard box with the stock photo on the cover showing the front and back of the model on each side of the packaging. Inside the panty is folded neatly in a plastic pouch as pictured below. Since I threw away the packaging over a month ago I cannot tell you if it came with care directions. I can, however, tell you that the tag does contain visual symbols which tell the customer how to handle the product. There are five symbols present to be honest I cannot decipher them all. I was able to make out that these panties are machine washable and dryer friendly but it is not okay to use an iron on them.

Sizing Continued
The Flower Lace Boyshort is offered on Eden in two sizes SM and ML. I ordered the SM and let me tell you right now that this panty runs small. Given that the farthest I could get these to stretch was 18 inches this should not have fit my 38 inch hips. Actually, in all honesty they barely did. In Baci’s defense the size chart does say it goes to a maximum of 36 inches in SM. But when I saw the measurements indicating a size 8 would be good in these I thought I’d be okay. I was wrong.
While it is not uncomfortable to wear these panties they do hug my butt and hips tightly enough to grab at my lower half unflatteringly and cause odd distortions to my body. It’s really not a pretty sight. I would highly recommend that the wearer of these panties not be anyone who has hips past 36 inches if they want a comfortable, attractive fit. I would have been better off with the ML so anyone in my hip range should definitely go for the ML.

What I wasn’t so fond of
Since I’ve already explained the sizing issue I’m going to spend this part of the review going over something else that bothered me; this panty’s misleading name. Here I will explain the differences between a Boyshort, which this item is not style panty and Bikini/Brief panty, which it is. This information and the supporting pictures are provided by Victorias Secret.com.
Boyshort
The boyshort is supposed to be a contemporary, feminine style brief. This panty style is supposed to provide the derriere with full coverage leaving a sliver of the cheek to pop out. The sides of the hips are supposed to have a fabric length that is adjacent with the backside going around your lower half perfectly.

Bikini/Brief
Okay so I’m calling this a Bikini/Brief because this panty has the back coverage of a bikini, i.e. what is termed by VS as “between full and the bare minimum”. I like to think of it as the back portion of the panty rides up your ass like thong but with too much fabric. Meanwhile the sides are thicker than a bikini’s and more like a brief.

What I liked
There are actually a lot of things I really like about these panties. Granted I won’t be wearing them too often but for the right body type and sizing these do have a lot of appeal. These are heavenly soft, they contain a cotton crotch, and they’re machine washable. Really there’s a lot to love here. Most importantly I absolutely adore the lace detail of these panties. They are double stitched in such a way that the edges of the flowers look like they are popping out at you. I feel like I never see this kind of detail put into underwear anymore. It almost makes me feel like these are special, less generic then others you would find while out shopping. Had they fit me I would have cherished them.

@Ms.N: I don't really know, I believe if they were offered in a different color I might but it seems like a bit much to have two of the same in my collection. However I have ordered other pairs of Baci undies because I like their quality .
Thank you to everyone who read and/or commented on my review I appreciate it!!!!

Great review! I really wanted these but it seems that the official photos show a different shade of red (which is what attracted me to them). It's a shame, because I actually prefer that style over boyshorts. Oh well! Thanks for the helpful pics, btw

Actually since I have over 100 pairs of panties I have to say that technically they are a " BOY BREIF" not a boy short or bikinis. Great review though

I'm not so sure that these would look as nice on me as a bikini brief. Boyshorts tend to be my favorite style. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! I think in the product picture they look like a bikini but that doesn't but me as I will wear either.
