Cuban heel stockings with back seam - hosiery by Coquette - review by SelectZen

-Packaging-

My partner and I were browsing Eden when we came across these beautiful stockings. She immediately fell in love with these particular ones from the few available. So when I found out I would be reviewing the Cuban Heel Stockings with back seam from Coquette we were both happy and excited to see what they would be like in person. They arrived in a simple cardboard sleeve type box that was wrapped in plastic. The front of the packaging shows a woman from the legs down modelling the product. On the back there are some basic care instructions.

-Specifications/Care-

Out of the packaging the stockings feel quite soft to the touch. There is a thin cardboard sleeve that each stocking is wrapped around in order to keep its shape. In their natural (unstretched form) they measure 11 inches circumference at the thigh and a total of 31 inches in length from top to toe. They are made from nylon and are quite stretchy.

In terms of care you should only ever hand wash them separately from other items as the red dye may transfer to other clothes. Leave the stockings to drip dry as they are not suitable for tumble drying or ironing.

-Wear-

In terms of looks there is nothing bad to say. The stockings, once on my partner, look amazing and quite sexy. The red and black contrasts combine to make a really nice look. The top of the stockings have a few inches of red which dwindles into one thin red line that runs the length of the back of each stocking. Once this reaches the back of the ankle it spreads back out to cover the sole of the foot as well as the toes in red. The stockings are largely opaque but have a touch of sheer to them. Sometimes clothing doesn’t look as well on as it does professionally photographed but these actually do look just as nice in person.

What they feel like to wear as described by my partner. They are quite comfortable on. They are not too heavy and so can be worn comfortably for an extended period of time. The top has 2-3 inches where it is slightly reinforced. This means they will stay up on their own without the aid of a garter or suspender. The slightly thicker material at the top is also good for if you wanted to use a suspender/garter belt, you can without damaging the fabric.

-Size-

This product is advertised as one size fits most. My partner is quite slim and a little under five foot five. She was able to fit into them without any trouble. They have quite a bit of stretch in them so they could comfortably accommodate someone several sizes larger or taller. As with any tights or stockings the more they stretch the more sheer they become.

-Summary-

I didn’t know what to expect from the Cuban Heel Stockings as prior to this we hadn’t had any experience with Coquette products. They were better quality then I expected, especially considering the price. The detail and design of is visually pleasing and the contrast created a beautiful look. They feel decently made and have yet to tear or snag after a few wears. They work well on their own or equally well with a garter/suspender belt. The only negative thing I can say is that if you pull them tight, the toes might tear as they are not strengthened or reinforced in any way. If you are interested in the look of them or want to add some nice stockings to your collection then these are great value.
