Velvet Santa romper with hood - sexy costume by Coquette - review by VelvetBound

I am typically turned off by most holiday apparel. You know, the ugly, flashy sweaters, tacky socks, or Santa costumes with big bellies. But this romper by Coquette is far from any of those and has opened me up to the sexier side of the holidays. This one outfit has inspired me to start a new tradition of early gift giving, and my Fiance will gladly vouch for its success.

What drew me to this outfit was the fact that it wasn't too revealing and could actually be worn out on the right occasion. If what you're looking to do is actually show a bit of skin, this could easily be done with the tug of the zipper and adjusted to your preference. The material is slightly stretchy, velvety, and hugged my body just right. It was not too tight and not too loose. For once, I was satisfied with the way it fit and looked on me! The pop-poms that tie with the ribbon at the shorts are one of my favorite details. They are ultra feminine and sexy and can be left untied at your preference. You won't see it in the pictures, but the zipper is lined with white jewels that make a charming touch. The only flaws, though minor, were that feathered hood is a bit flimsy, and the feathers are more sparse then the pictures.

I went for a size small and am very glad I did because it couldn't have fit better. I am usually in-between a small and medium, so it can be hard to find lingerie and costumes that fit right. Unfortunately, this only comes in two sizes: S/M and M/L. I would have liked to see this come in more specific sizes and plus size as well. We are not all the same size!

The tag reads that the romper is hand-wash only, and I am certain it's going to be a pain. The feathers come off easily if tugged too hard or handled roughly, and I am sure that the same applies to washing. The tag also reads that this cannot be put into a drying machine, bleached (of course), or dry cleaned. I plan on getting the most use out of this as possible before having to wash it.

I usually give myself a day or so after using a product to gather my thoughts and opinions, but with this outfit, I knew right away everything I liked about it and what could be better. My Fiance enjoyed it so much in the bedroom that he suggested I wear this to a friend's Christmas party next weekend. I plan to pair it with some black fishnet tights and knee high boots, so I don't freeze to death! This is the perfect holiday outfit for me and my body, and I can only hope that next year's outfit lives up to this one.
