Wet look top and panty set - camisole set discontinued by Cottelli - review by Breas

The Wet Look Top and Panty Set by Cottelli had been on my wish list for ages. I love the wet look paired with the lace. It’s fierce, but feminine. Recently when the lingerie went on sale, I finally purchased it. The set is available in sizes S-XL and in the colour black only. I purchased the size XL.

The set arrived folded neatly in a thin, rectangular plastic casing. Inside of the casing is a cardboard insert, which you can see through the outside of the case. The front of the cardboard has the brand name, and a photo of a model wearing the lingerie set. The back of the cardboard states the material composition of the outfit, size, company contact information, and a photo of the backside of the model. The packaging is quite nice, but probably not the best storage solution for the outfit when it is not in use. Below is a photo of the front of the packaging.



When I had taken the set out of the packaging, I was pleased with the look of the outfit. Actually, I felt that it was even more gorgeous in person than it was in the stock photo! The lace is ridiculously soft, and even the wet look areas of the set felt comfortable. When looking at, and feeling the set, I knew it was quality. I realized that the reason this set looks better than the stock photo is because the lace pattern on this set is floral, and not circles like it is on the product page. I personally like the floral lace pattern much better than what is shown on the model in the stock photo! You can see the lace pattern in the photo below.



The set is 70% polyester, 20% polyamid, and 10% elasthan. Both the top and bottom piece to the set is very stretchy. I’ve taken measurements of the set laying flat, unstretched. If you need additional measurements, please send me a message and I can get them for you.

Chest (armpit to armpit): 17 inches
Width underneath chest: 15 inches

I really didn’t think I’d like the shoulder strap to the top. I’ve never really liked the one shoulder strap, or one-sleeve type outfits. I like my sleeves and straps to be symmetrical! Surprisingly though, when I tried on the outfit, I really liked how it looked on me. The strap tapers from the top at 2 ½ inches unstretched, down to 1 inch. At the very top of the strap, there is a bit of cinching (gathering) and you can see this in the photo below.



This was really the only thing that bothered me. The cinching seemed to make the strap fold and twist while I was wearing it. It wasn’t uncomfortable, but I wanted it to look fabulous for my partner and the folding does look a bit odd.

At the very bottom of the shoulder strap (on the front), there is a little black ribbon bow. My bow is a bit funky and warped because of how it was folded in the packaging, but that wasn’t a big deal to me. Eventually the bow will flatten itself out.

There is no padding or underwire in the chest. I wear a C38 and I found that it fit my chest quite well. If you have a larger chest, the top area my droop down a little bit because it’s not that long of an area (see measurements above). Also, the material is quite thin and without padding, so your nipples can be seen through the material if they are erect. I found the top to be very comfortable and flattering, though if my chest was bigger, I may have felt differently.

The laced bottom section of the top is flared. The lace is really comfortable and doesn’t cause that itchy, uncomfortable feeling that some lace does. Both the top and bottoms are so comfortable that I would sleep in this set. The material was not bothersome to my skin at all. Also, I did not find the material to make me feel sweaty or warm. I had worn the outfit for a half an hour or so, and I didn’t feel that the wet-look material made me feel hot (temperature wise).

The bottoms to the set are wonderful. I love them so much because unlike so many other sets, the bottoms are panties, not a thong or g-string! There is a little lace panel across the front of the bottoms. The lace is the same floral pattern as the top of the set. When I was wearing the panties, I noticed that the bottom of my butt cheeks weren’t covered by back of the panties, but this looked sexy. In the stock photo, it seems that the model either a) doesn’t have butt cheeks, or b) they’ve been photo shopped out. The panties are extremely flattering for the bum! One thing to note about the bottoms is that there is no lining in them.



The care tags in both pieces state the care instructions in symbols. The symbols state that the set should be hand washed (and I assume line dried, though it does not state that). The symbols also state to never iron, bleach, tumble dry, or dry clean the set.

Overall, I give this set a 5 out of 5. This is my partner’s new favourite on me and it’s one of my favourites too. I feel so confident and sexy in this outfit. I did buy this set when it was on sale, but given how much I love it, I definitely would have paid full price. The material is comfortable, it fits well, it’s stretchy and it’s gorgeous. I think that this would look great on just about anybody!
