Black sheer thigh high - thigh highs discontinued by DreamGirl - review by animepanda89

I purchased a pair of these thigh highs due to my satisfaction with other DreamGirl products. I bought them to go with a costume, but I found them to be a disappointment.

These stockings are made out of 100% nylon. They are nicely sheer but still thick enough to give a solid color, they also feature a back seam. They lack a reinforced toe and a silicone band at the top meaning that garters or body adhesive are a must to keep them up. The picture on the product page is very accurate to the color and sheerness of the product, my experience was with a black pair which was a beautiful smokey color when worn.

One of the biggest problems that I had with these stockings is the size. When I purchased them, I wore a 3x-4x in DreamGirl costumes, and weighed 275 pounds. I was hoping these would be a good fit since I have had so much luck with other DreamGirl products fitting me perfectly.

When I tried these on they only came about three inches over my knees which measured at 23 inches before the stockings stopped stretching comfortable, there is no way this product would have gone higher on my thighs and the tops created a very unsightly muffin top where they ended. Sadly I ended up not being able to wear them and they just ended up getting tossed in a drawer to gather dust. If you are under a size 18 or have small thighs they may work for you size wise.

The materials and weave that are used in this product could be greatly improved on. They are made out of nylon that is not very high quality and it snags very easily. The first time I put them on several small snags appeared during the process. I have very short nails and experience putting on nice hosiery so I know that this is a material choice problem. The lack of a reinforced toe can also shorten the life of the product. These would not last very long if exposed to any use.

The packaging is the typical one used for DreamGirl hosiery. The stockings are simply folded around a piece of card stock that is slipped into a plastic sleeve which is then placed in a glossy cardboard envelope.

Overall my experience with this product was a disappointment. They are a good effort but are overpriced for what you get my biggest problem is the sizing. I wish that DreamGirl would make their hosiery in three sizes instead of the two offered, a queen plus would be a great addition to go with their larger sized lingerie and clientele.

I decided to give these another run for this years Halloween costume and I am still disappointed. I now weigh around 245 pounds and I am still having the same fit problems. The quality seems about the same.
