Black elegant dress - mini dress discontinued by Espiral - review by indiechick

The product was shipped to me in Eden's tried and true brown box with a return address from Web Merchants, which considering I live with all men, I love that I don't have to explain myself every time a new box arrives. The dress itself comes folded up very small and is in a see through pouch, much like what you find halloween costumes in.

The product itself is a black, faux wrap dress by Espiral. it is 94% Rayon and 6% Elastan, though it feels like a jersey cotton against the skin. While this dress is in the club wear section of the site, you would need to be very confident to wear it as anything more than a cover up at the beach, which with the exception of a few trips to NYC bars is likely what I will use it for. There are several reasons for this:

1: It is VERY SHORT...see photo. I am very confident about my legs, I consider them my best feature, however if you are self conscious about your legs this dress is not going to be a fit for you.



2: I think my boobs are too low. I am in my 20's but I believe that my breasts are lower than the desired sitting point for this dress. I had to do a lot of adjusting for my breasts to sit properly in the cups of the dress.



3: The sizing. I run XS for everything. I rarely try something on in a size small and have it be small enough, I put this on and this Small is TOO SMALL for me, this has NEVER happened to me. So if you want this dress I suggest ordering one size up from what you traditionally wear.

Three perks that will keep this on the edge of the beach only pile and allow it to make some city visits are:

1: It is very soft and comfortable. Even though it is a little small for me, it is very comfortable.

2: It is a Faux wrap. I love how wrap dresses look, traditionally they make you look smaller, however they have a tendency to pop open and expose all. Because this is a faux wrap dress, you are always covered.

3: You can wear a fully supportive bra. The problem with so much of the club wear today, is that you have to get a really expensive, often uncomfortable bra just to wear the dress or shirt. In the photo provided, I am wearing my fullest coverage bra and nothing pops through, or exposes itself.

All and all, I like this dress, I just wish I had ordered a larger size so that I could take it out more often.

I still like it, but I'd probably only give it a 3 now instead of a four. I wore it out for a day in Central Park and then a night dancing. As I heated up, this dress did not fair so well. It stayed damp with sweat long after the rest of me had cooled down and dried off. Also just how short it was became much more noticeable while sitting in grass and riding subways than it was when I was standing taking photos for this review. So while it is still a cute dress, I think it is being reserved for romantic nights at home with my man more than nights on the town.
