Lace demi bra with underwire - bra discontinued by Baci - review by kitty1949

I instantly fell in love with Baci's lace demi underwire bra upon discovering it among the Eden catalogue. I was looking to purchase new bras that were practical and could be worn in my daily life, not just for special occasions. Unfortunately, this bra fell short for me and is patiently waiting in its box for someone who can use it.



The Lace Demi bra comes packaged in a small black box labeled "Baci" with a front and back view of the bra worn by a model. The bra comes enclosed in a plastic bag inside the box. The box could be used for storage, but most of my bras get tossed in the underwear drawer, anyway. If I planned on keeping this bra, it'd wind up in the same place.

I was recently measured as 34DD at a lingerie store, so I know this is my true size. Upon receiving my order, I took one look at this bra and I already knew it wasn't going to fit. If I could go back, I would order a size larger and get a 36DD instead of a 34DD. It was snug, not stretchy and the cups were a lot smaller than I anticipated.


The bra is 25.5 inches long laid out flat. It has hook and eye closures, and the band size can be taken in a maximum of 2 inches by hooking it on a tighter set of hooks. I had to wear it on the last hook and even then, when I sat down, the bra was still cutting into my back. The material was not stretchy at all. As a matter of fact, it was so tight, I was afraid it would rip. It is made of 90% Nylon and 10% Spandex. Strangely, the tag included no care instructions. The fabric is pretty delicate, so I'd either hand wash and air dry, or machine wash with bras and undies and air dry.


There is a soft mesh lining on the inside of each cup. I did not find it to be scratchy or irritating. Exactly how Baci decided this is a DD cup is beyond me. Both of my breasts were spilling out not only on the top of the cups, but the sides, too. Not a very attractive look.


Its straps are 13 inches long, adjusted on the longest setting. The adjustable portion can take up to 8 inches off their collective length. I never wear my bra straps on the loosest setting, nor the tightest, so despite all its other flaws, the bra did give me a decent lift.

I think this would have potential to be a fabulous bra - if it only fit. It was nothing special, yet nicely made. Sadly, I would not recommend this product to a friend. It does not fit properly, having straps and bands cutting into your skin is never comfortable and I don't think the money is worth making a gamble on whether or not you're ordering the correct size.

I still stand by everything I said in my review. Unfortunately, this bra hasn't found a new home yet, but I am confident in saying I will not be recommending Baci products to any of my friends.
