Lace Demi Bra (34d) Review

For $16.99, I guess you get what you pay for. This bra is cute, and comfortable, if it fits you. Unfortunately the sizing seems to be off, so I would recommend ordering a size larger than what you normally wear. Also, the quality is not great. This piece already has some fraying going on around the edges. That being said, the fraying is not extremely noticeable. For the price, this isn't a bad choice, but it's certainly not a high quality bra.

extremely useful review
A bra for $16.99? I was skeptical when I saw the price, but I figured what did I really have to lose? All in all, this is an okay bra, but it's far from perfect.

What's Included:
This item consists of just one piece; the lace demi bra with underwire. The straps are not removable.

Material and Care:
This bra is made out of 90% Nylon and 10% Spandex.

The lace is surprisingly comfortable, and not at all itchy. I was able to wear this bra for many hours without feeling irritated by the fabric.

The lace of the bra is see through, but the black fabric (and the lace pattern) does help to provide some coverage.

Both the cups, and the band, of the bra are very stretchy.

It's recommended that you hand wash this item in cold water, and then line dry it. The package also notes that you should not iron, bleach, or dry clean this piece. In this case, I would agree with those instructions as I feel that machine washing would ruin the lace fabric.

Sizing:
Baci has made this bra available in many sizes. Currently, it is listed as being available in the following sizes: 32A, 32B, 32C, 34B, 34C, 34D, 34DD, 36B, 36C, 36D, 36DD, 38B, 38C, 38D, and 38DD. I ended up wearing a 34D, as this is the size that I typically wear.

Now that I have the 34D, I feel as though I should have probably ordered a 34DD. This just seems to run a bit small.

The band measures 25", unstretched, while laying flat. Stretched, it measures 32".

The band did fit me, but it was a bit snug, even on the last hook.

The cups are about a cup size smaller than normal. As I said, I should have ordered a DD, when I usually wear a D.

That said, there is a chance that the sizing issue is only specific to the 34D.

Design:
This bra is pretty basic. There is no padding in the cups, but there is underwire. The underwire does provide support.

There is elastic going around the band, and around the tops of the cups. The elastic on the top of the cups serves the purpose of holding the girls in. That said, the elastic can also cause problems, as if you flow over (even a tiny bit), the elastic is going to cut into your skin.

The straps of the bra are thicker in the front than they are in the back. This is because the lace portion of the bra goes all the way up to your shoulders, and then stops. The straps are very adjustable.

The bra closes with your basic hook and eye closure. There are three possible closure settings.

Oh, and don't forget the adorable, golden heart shaped charm in the middle! It's attached to a black bow, and it's very cute. The bow and the charm are not meant to be removable, but you could easily snip them off if you wanted to.

Packaging:
The lace demi bra comes packaged in a cardboard box. The box is not discreet as there is a large image of the model wearing the bra on both the front, and back, of the package. That said, the packaging is no more revealing than what you might see in a fashion magazine.

The packaging offers minimal information about the bra itself. There is a small note on the back of the package that states the size, what it's made out of, and how to care for it, but that is about it. Then again, what can really be said about a bra?

Inside the package, the bra is wrapped in plastic.

Quality:
For a $16.99 bra, the quality isn't bad. That said, it's not great, either.

The lace has unfinished edges all around, and unfortunately some of those edges already appear to be fraying. I can't imagine that this will hold up to long term use very well.

I also noticed a number of loose threads on the bra.
Follow-up commentary
I've tried this bra a few more times, and now I find the material itchy and irritating to my skin. It's fine at first, but after about 30 minutes of wear, it's so uncomfortable.
