Black thigh high with bow - thigh highs discontinued by DreamGirl - review by SMichelle

Basics:
These thigh highs come to us from Dreamgirl. They're available only in black, and they feature an adorable little bow. They're available in two different sizes; one size fits most, and plus (or queen) size.

These stockings are truly opaque, and they're quite versatile. They look fantastic when paired with a garter belt, or some sexy lingerie in the bed room, yet they also work well when paired with a dress for a night out.

Garter belt, or no garter belt?:
These stockings can really be worn with or without the garter belt. I generally prefer to wear my stockings with garter belts, but I don't find that I have to with these stockings. They don't seem to slide down on their own, which is great.

Material & Care:
These stockings are made out of 100% Nylon, according to the packaging.

These are opaque, and not sheer at all. Even when I stretched them to their fullest potential, they remained opaque. The material is a lot thicker than other stockings that I've tried; it's not uncomfortable, and it doesn't make me itch or anything like that, it just feels thicker. The good thing about this is that the material will be less likely to snag. The bad thing about the thicker material is that it can make these a bad choice on a hot day.

The top band of the thigh highs is a little thicker than the rest of the stocking, as obviously it's intended to hold the stockings up. It does hold them up pretty well, too.

The bow on these was a little disappointing. It feels like it's made out of a cheap ribbon, and it creases really easily. Along with that, it just doesn't lay flat, so it takes a bit of adjusting to get it to look right.

To care for these, you're going to want to hand wash them in cold water, and then allow them to hang dry. I would suggest storing the stockings in a Ziploc bag; doing so will keep the pair together, and it will prevent them from getting snagged in the drawer.

Sizing:
These stockings are available in one size fits most and plus size. I purchased the plus size, as I have thicker thighs. According to Dreamgirl's packaging, the plus size should fit anyone that weighs between 165-275lbs. I don't agree with this, really.

Firstly, I think that weight is a horrible way of sizing stockings. Secondly, these just seem to be sized pretty small for plus size stockings.

To give you some idea of the fit, I'll explain how these fit me. My thigh measures about 26" around at the widest point, and these stockings really only just fit me. I can't imagine these fitting anyone with larger thighs. As for the length? I'm 5'6", with an inseam of 33" -- these stockings come up to about mid-thigh length on me.

Quality:
The stockings themselves are decent quality. The material is thick, and it feels durable. The bows, however, are disappointing. They are poorly attached, so they don't lay right. I also get the feeling that they'll probably fall off really quickly.
