Itchy Isn't Sexy!

This chemise had the potential to be sexy, but unfortunately its flaws just ruin it for me. The itchy seams make it so that I can't wear this for more than 10 minutes at a time, and the pointed cups just make me laugh. It's a real shame, because the idea behind this piece is truly sexy.

extremely useful review
The Fetish Honeycomb chemise is sexy, but it has some serious flaws. The first time I put it on, I was filled with mixed emotions. On the one hand, the lower half of the chemise was very hot. On the other hand, the top of the chemise was just comical, what with the way it made my breasts look like they had sharp points! Then, there was the itching! After wearing this chemise for just a few minutes, I found myself very irritated at the inside seams.

Basics:
The Fetish Honeycomb chemise is made by Escante. It is available only in black. It comes packaged with an included g-string, and a pair of black pantyhose.

Material & Care:
The body of the chemise, which is the honeycomb, is made out of 94% nylon and 6% elastane. The frotn of the chemise, or the wetlook portion, is made out of 100% polyester.

I have such a love/hate relationship with the material on this chemise. It looks absolutely sexy, but the seams in the material ITCH like crazy. The actual fabric itself is comfortable, it's just where the seams are that drives me crazy.

The wetlook material covers the cups, straps, front panel, and the little ruffle at the bottom. The triangle on the g-string is also made of the wetlook material. The wetlook material has some stretch to it, but that stretch is extremely limited. What I love about the stretch on the wetlook portion of this chemise is that the material still looks good even when it's stretched to its fullest potential. On some other wetlook pieces, I have found that stretching the pieces too much leads to the wetlook material looking cracked and worn out; that's not the case with this one.

The wetlook portion has a sheen look to it, which is accompanied by a sleek feel. It's also opaque. The material is also very flexible and breathable, as well. The inside of the wetlook material (the part that goes against your skin) is soft and comfortable against my skin.

The honeycomb material is thin, breathable, and surprisingly durable. That being said, the honeycombs could snag, so be careful. The honeycomb netting is also very stretchy, and soft. The actual honeycomb material does feel comfortable on my skin.

What doesn't feel comfortable on my skin is the seams that are found on the insides of the chemise. Those seams make me itch like crazy!

The included stockings are made out 100% Nylon. They are, in my opinion, throwaways. They're thin, cheap, and far too delicate.

To care for every part of this set, you should hand wash it in cold water, and then allow it to line dry. Do not wring or twist the item. Remember, only use non-chlorine bleach when needed, and you should only iron it at a low temperature when it's absolutely required.

Sizing:
Escante has made this available in three different sizes: small, medium, and large. I purchased a large, which is what I usually purchase when it comes to Escante.

According to the size chart, a large should fit someone with the following measurements:
Cups: C-D
Bust: 36-38"
Waist: 32-34"
Hips: 34-36"

I personally wear a 34d bra, and have a 32" waist and 40" hips. Usually I find that the larges from Escante fit me well, but with this particular piece, I had a lot of extra room. The cups, especially, are very large on my 34d breasts.

With that in mind, I would recommend that you size down for this piece, unless you want it to be loose.

As for the included g-string? It fit my 40" hips comfortably, and provided just enough coverage in the front.

Design:
The design of the chemise has the potential to be sexy, but unfortunately the construction just seems to be flawed. Before I discuss what's flawed about it, let's discuss the basic construction.

The chemise combines the wetlook with the look of netting, which is a very sexy look. The wetlook material is opaque, and it covers the bust, straps, front panel, and the ruffle of the chemise. The netting, which is done in a honeycomb pattern, covers the rest of the chemise.

The non-removable shoulder straps crisscross on the back of the chemise. The part of the straps that is visible from the front is made of the wetlook material. There is then a large silver-colored o-ring on the back, which connects the wetlook straps to straps that resemble bra straps. The straps are adjustable.

The cups on the chemise do not feature underwire or padding, so support is limited. There is a seam going under the bust, but it didn't do much for my breasts.

My biggest problem with the construction of this piece is the way that the cups are sewn. There's a little seam that goes halfway up the cups; unfortunately this seam makes it so that the cups come to a point. It comes to such an intense point that I felt like I was wearing a science fiction themed costume rather than a piece of sexy lingerie! The pointed effect is truly comical, but it's not at all sexy.

Anyway, continuing on downward... there are two seams on each side of the chemise, used to sew one section of honeycomb to another section of honeycomb. These seams are just not very well done; they're sturdy, but they're incredibly uncomfortable!

The very bottom of the chemise, which is my favorite part of it, has an adorable ruffle trim. On me, this ruffle trim falls about right below my bottom, so the length is perfect. For reference, I am 5'6".

The bottom of the chemise also features attached garter straps. The straps are not removable. They are also not adjustable, which is a shame. The straps measure 4" in length. The clasps on the garters are made of plastic, and unfortunately they're not very sturdy.

Packaging:
The chemise comes packaged with a plastic hanger, and covered in a plastic bag. There is a hang-tag attached to the chemise, which features a photograph of a model wearing a different piece of lingerie.

Quality:
I've noticed several loose threads on this piece. I'm also not a fan of how the seaming is done, since it irritates my skin.
Follow-up commentary
I never end up wearing this... I just don't find it flattering, and it itches like crazy! This is, perhaps, one of my least favorite lingerie purchases.
