Holiday velveteen babydoll and g-string - babydoll and panties set by Coquette - review by Lily Night

Packaging
This outfit came packaged inside a large plastic bag with a sticker stating the size and color. Inside the bag, the babydoll came hanging on a Coquette padded hanger with one cardboard tag safety pinned to it, making it easy to remove. This tag has pictures of a model in several poses and symbols for washing instructions on it. The only other tags are a small tag on the front of the thong with the size, and a series of three tags on the babydoll. Of the three tags, one gives the brand (Coquette), one gives the size, and one gives the washing instructions, material and such. These tags are sewn in, but they lay flat and can easily be removed if they're uncomfortable.

Design and Sizing
The babydoll is divided into two general parts, the top bra like half and the bottom skirt half. The top is made from a velvety material and has padded cups to provide support. The bottom half is a mesh material with small rhinestone accents. The skirt portion is cut to fall lower in the back than in the front just covering the butt. While the top is opaque, everything below is see through so it's not extremely modest, but it can hide some imperfections. We had hoped that this could be worn out of the house as a top, but because the mesh is so see through, it's not very appropriate without wearing something underneath.
The back side has a nice window to show off the back before the skirt part starts. The top is clasped by a bra-type closure with 3 rows of two eyelets each, set about a half inch apart, which gives some adjustment options. The straps aren't removable, and are slightly limited in adjustment because the slider hits where the necklace part is sewn on. The thong is made of the same velvet material as the top portion, and the side straps have some stretch to them. Unfortunately, the thong doesn't have a panty liner of any sort.

When we first ordered this, it was only available in a large, which we ordered fearing it would be discontinued after the holidays. Soon after, a medium came back into stock so I have included size charts for both.

The large measures about 25 inches from the tops of the cups to the bottom of the mesh portion and is about 14 inches across the cups. The shoulder straps can be adjusted between 10 and 15 inches long. The large thong has some stretch as it can stretch between 13 and 18 inches across but the triangle part itself has no stretch. The medium is almost exactly the same when laid on top, so the difference in size appears to be the length around as well as a slight difference in the size of the cups.

Fit
The large we tried on first and it fit well, but had a large enough gap between the cup and the breasts that a bra needed to be worn underneath. The medium fit my girlfriend very well in the waist, but the previously mentioned gapping issue arose no matter what we tried. This seems to be a design flaw in the cups, because my girlfriend rarely has problems filling out tops. The other problem that we encountered was the uncomfortable necklace part was on too short of strings and ended up being pulled into my girlfriend's cleavage. To solve this, we just cut out this piece and the rest of the babydoll looks fine without it. Because this babydoll flows so well for the bottom half, the hip measurement seems to be less critical, and the most important measurement seems to be the bust and cup sizes. We generally order a size up just in case and for this one the medium worked just fine.

Material and Care
The babydoll is 82% nylon and 18% spandex exclusive of trim. The top half and thong are both made of the same velvety material, and the bottom is a fine mesh. The mesh is soft against the skin, and the inside of the cups is lined with a soft foam, so there should be no irritation issues. The thong on the other hand isn't lined with anything, and the back of the velvet isn't scratchy but it isn't too comfortable either, but it should be fine for short-term wear. The outfit seems to be very well made as I couldn't find any loose threads and the rhinestones seem to be solidly attached to the skirt part. None of the material is prone to wrinkling, but the cups are padded and therefore a bit difficult to fold, so traveling with this product is an option, as long as space isn't really tight. The tag says to hand wash and hang to dry, and as usual I suggest following the instructions, especially with this outfit as the rhinestones seem like they could be lost in the wash.

Overall, we really like this outfit because of how it looks along with the quality workmanship and the nice hanger. However, we did take off a star for the issue with the cups and the odd necklace part.
