I love the holidays. I love the smell in the chilly air, the family gatherings (sometimes) and the steamy nights of trying to keep each other warm. I am a big fan of dressing up for the season, in the bedroom and to holiday parties. Have you ever been to a Santa party? They are so fun! Everyone dresses up like Santa! Well, that is exactly why I got this outfit. I wanted to wear it to a Santa party and it wasn't as revealing as my other holiday outfits (See my reviews: Santa Claus is Coming to... Bed or the review for the Christmas Present Pasties). As you can see from my reviews, I needed something with a little more coverage.

So I got the Sleigh Belle Costume!

Packaging:
The Sleigh Belle costume came in typical costume bag, just like you would find at a costume store. Basically it is a big thick plastic bag that has two closure snaps at the top. This particular costume bag has a hanger sewn on the top. Inside the bag is a cardboard page that has a picture of the model wearing the item and a little bit of information about the item. She is wearing thigh high boots that DO NOT come with the Sleigh Belle dress.

The packaging is great for reuse. It is sturdy and it can be hung in the closet with the hanger! However, I don't hang it all year round. Mainly, it sits in the Christmas costumes box I have in the basement.

This Sleigh Belle dress has a lot of fun going on! Let's start at the top. The hoodie is a nice big hoodie that when pulled on top of your head covers all of your hair and goes a little past your forehead. It is not one of those worthless short hoodies that are just for show. It also isn't very pointy, like some elf hoodies. There is a faux fur edging the front of the hood and there are drawstring ties with little puff balls on the ends. Note: the drawstrings don't actually work, they are for visual purposes only.

The dress is long sleeve – which is nice if you step out of the house in the winter wearing this! (You might want a jacket and boots too!) At the end of the sleeves there is faux fur cuffs, which give it a nice finished look and match the other faux fur pieces on this outfit.
On the front of the dress is a long zipper that zips from the belly button to the neck. On the model pictured on the packaging it looks like a sewn "V" neck front, when in reality it is a zipper! The zipper can be worn high or low depending on the cleavage you want to show. You could also wear a tank top underneath and unzip it all the way, and have a whole different look!

The skirt portion of the dress has a sewn in petticoat with lace trim. The bottom hem of the skirt has a faux fur lining as well. Overall, the item is adorable, it isn't too short and it will keep you warmer than other skimpier Christmas costumes!

Sizing:
It is available in S, M, L, 1X/2X, 3X/4X
I ordered the size small. I am 5'4", 125lbs and a 34D bust. If you want my complete sizing information, just visit my profile page. The size small is recommended for women 90lbs – 120lbs.

That being said, I ordered down a size, but the small fit me very well. I hate when things are too baggy when I order up. I liked the length of the dress– short but not so short I couldn't wear it out! The bust was a little tight, but it could still zip all the way up. I would rather have it on the tight end than baggy.

The skirt is about 13" long.
The sleeves are about 24" long.
The length of the dress is about 32" long

I would say the sizing is right on track. If you order your size, you won't be disappointed.

The outfit as a whole is very comfortable. The lace I found to be a bit itchy. The inside fabric (which is on your skin) isn't too bothersome, but it isn't very soft or smooth either. The velvety feel on the outside of the outfit is comfortable though! The material is not very breathable and gets hot very easily! Overall, I am not bothered by the fabric, but it might bother some people with sensitive skin.

Personal Experience :
This dress worked perfect for the intended purposes I bought it for! I wore it to the Santa party with some leggings, a tank top and a long sleeve shirt (hey it was cold outside!). I just wish I had the model's boots and this outfit would have been complete!

Wearing this outfit with other pieces like leggings, tights, hats jungle bells, whatever...is the fun part about it. There is so much you can pair it with! The options are pretty endless. It is a good piece for the bedroom or outside in the winter air!

While this wasn't perfect, it is still pretty great. The fabric is a bit itchy, and in December I spent a whole night in it, which didn't help. I did wear booty shorts underneath, but the skirt portion itched the top of my legs. I probably could have worn nylons or leggings, but I didn't... next time. I still will wear this since I think it is cute and gives good coverage for outside the bedroom. So that overrules the itch factor, for others I understand it might not though!
