Santa baby velvet dress - sexy costume by Coquette - review by Red Vinyl Kitty

For a while now, I've been looking for that sexy naughty "Santa" dress for wearing around the house while we track Santa with the NORAD Santa tracker. We do all sorts of things to "kill time" *AHEM* and I wanted to look special this xmas. I chose this Santa Baby Velvet Dress, and I will admit I was a bit on the uncertain side about it. It isn't all that expensive, so I was worried it would be cheap and possibly frumpy. I am SO glad I took the chance though because I am in love with this dress.

It arrived in a plastic bag which was wrapped up in pink tissue paper. I thought the tissue paper was a nice touch, and I love it when my lingerie arrives like that. Without even putting it on, I was VERY impressed. The velvet itself is quite thick and plush and not what I expected. It feels luxurious and sensual on. The dress is sleeveless, and the arm holes are lined in white trim. The dress also has a hood with marabou trim which extends into the plunging neckline.

I'm 5'2" 143 pounds, and my stats are 36 D bust, 33 Waist, and a 40 Hip. I went with a size large, and this dress fits me like a dream. The size chart says it will only fit a C cup, but I thought I would risk it, and I am glad I did. Not only did it fit my bust fine, but I think if you're a DD you'll probably fit as well, I would not risk any higher than that though. Straight across the bust the dress measures 18", but it is VERY stretchy. The hip has the same measurement, but the stretchiness of the dress allows it to cling to your curves and it just looks stunning on. The softness of the velvet makes you feel wonderful - it wasn't constricting or painfully tight at all, which is something I generally worry about with an outfit which relies on "stretch" to fit it to your body.

The dress is very short. As I mentioned before, I am only 5'2", and the dress comes down about 5" past my butt. The dress is 30" long, so it's a good idea to keep that in mind if you are very tall. I think petite women or men will find this dress better suited to them.

The one major drawback to this item is cleaning. If it were not for the marabou trim, you could just wash in the machine using a lingerie bag, and hang dry. However, the marabou poses a problem. If you get it wet it is just never going to reach the same amount of "fluffiness" as it had initially. The tag the dress came with says to hand wash only for this reason. My advice is to be very careful when hand washing the item, and try not to get the marabou wet. The good news though is that if you don't want the marabou trim on the dress, you could easily just remove it. It is attached with only one or two stitches every couple of inches or so. A stitch ripper and some careful work could make this a machine wash (in a lingerie bag) and hang dry (if you don't want to risk shrinkage) garment.

I really love this dress though, and it makes me feel super sexy with it on. I can hardly wait for xmas eve so that it is a bit more "in season". :)

I tried this dress on initially without my husband knowing and came out of the bedroom with my Sweet Candy Cane glass dildo that I got from here, and my husband's eyes popped out of his head. I think the two items together make for a great night together. ;)

This little number got plenty of use during the holidays, and is still in wonderful shape. I have no complaints, and just wanted to add, that the garment is holding up just as well as when I first got it.
