Bound by Diamonds teddy - teddy discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Breas

The Bound by Diamonds Teddy by Cal Exotics arrived in a rectangular box. The front of the box has the product name, a few product features, and a photo of a model wearing the teddy. The back of the box has the same information, and a view of the model from behind. You could keep the box to store the piece in when you are not wearing it, but it’s not necessary. The packaging in the stock photo on the product page is not the correct packaging. Below you can see a photo of the actual box.



The teddy is a one-size-fits-most piece. Typically the one-size-fits-most items do not fit me because I usually wear a size XL, but the teddy is adjustable to accommodate the larger sizes like myself. The teddy ties around the neck, and ties around the back. This allows the wearer to tie the top of the teddy tighter or looser, depending on your size. The g-string part of the teddy has an extremely stretchy elastic waistband. The only issue with the waistband is that the larger you are, the more “muffin top” you’ll have on the sides of the g-string.

The material composition of the teddy is as follows:

Bra and Panty: 65% PVC, 30% polyester, and 5% PU
“Diamonds”: crystal glass, PE
Ribbon: polyester
Elastic: 65% polyester and 35% rubber

I’ve taken measurements of the teddy lying flat, unstretched. If you need additional measurements, please feel free to send me a message and I can get those for you.

Ribbon neck ties length: 20 inches each
Ribbon neck ties width: a little over ¼ of an inch
Ribbon back ties length: 25 ½ inches each
Ribbon back ties width: 1 inch
Cup length: 6 inches
Cup width: 5 ½ inches
Distance between cups: 1 inch
Distance between bra and g-string (attachment): 10 ¼ inches
Waistband on g-string: 12 inches
Waistband on g-string when stretched as much as I possibly could: 23 ½ inches
Width of top of g-string (the part that covers your front): 6 inches

The teddy is basically a bra and g-string, attached in the front by 6 lines of “diamonds”; 3 on the top, and 3 on the bottom that meet and attach to a rectangular piece of material. The rectangular piece is 5 inches long and 2 inches wide. It’d probably be easier for you to just see what I am talking about, so I’ve attached a photo below.



In the top three rows, there are 16 “diamonds” in each strand. The bottom three rows have 24 “diamonds” in each strand. The strands do not seem very secure to the top and bottom of the teddy. It looks as though each strand is attached to these pieces by one sewn loop. I have a feeling that it will not be long before it gets broken. If you plan on wearing the teddy for a night of kinky, rough play, it will most likely break. The quality really isn’t that good. Also, the “diamonds” are pretty and sparkly, but the fabric that they are attached to is frayed and not cut properly. It’s not terribly noticeable from a distance, but you can notice it when holding the outfit. Even in the photo below, you cannot really see the poor quality as well as it truly is. The little black pieces sticking out from the “diamonds” are the frayed pieces from the material.



The bra part of the teddy is a bit small. I wear a C cup, and my chest was falling out of the cups. My partner likes the look of it on me though because it makes my chest look gigantic. One thing I did notice about the chest is that before I had put it on, the cups come to a slight point. When I had put the teddy on, I didn’t have pointy-looking boobs, but I think that is because I was far too large for the cups. I assume that if you have a smaller chest, the cups will appear more pointed in the centres of them.



The care tag states that the teddy should be hand washed in cold water only. Be very careful when washing the teddy because it is just so delicate that it could come apart if you are scrubbing vigorously.

As for my experience with the outfit… well, this was my first teddy ever! I wouldn’t say it was a bad experience, but it wasn’t phenomenal either. The teddy was really easy to get in and out of. When I was putting the teddy on, I did find it a bit difficult to do the ribbons up tightly that tie in the back. I think that I had a problem with the ties though because I was trying to fit my large chest into small cups.

I found that I had to pull the front of the g-string up quite high because there is only a 10 inch distance between the bra and g-string. This was a bit peculiar for me since I never wear my panties that high…ever. Also, because I had to pull the front of the g-string higher, there was also less fabric covering my crotch. I’ve never really liked the look of panties that only cover half of your front area, so this was not a plus for me. As I had mentioned at the beginning of the review, I’m a size XL, so I felt very exposed in all the wrong places. I don’t feel it was very flattering on my body.

I’ve decided that the teddy deserves a solid 3 out of 5. The reason that the teddy has lost 2 stars in its rating is because the quality is quite poor, it’s not available in plus sizes, and the teddy is so fragile that it will break/come apart sooner than later. The company’s website has the MSRP of the item at $29.99 which really isn’t that expensive… but then again it shouldn’t be because it won’t last you forever.

I haven't worn this piece since the original review. It has just been sitting in a drawer. I really don't like the way it fits me. It doesn't flatter my larger body. The quality is also quite poor. I'm not even sure why I'm still holding onto it because I know I won't wear it again.
