Pink and white ruffle panty - sexy panty discontinued by Coquette - review by yeoshua

This ruffled panty comes in a variety of color options (pink/white; blue/white; red/black) and 2 sizes--one size fits most and a plus size one size fits most. Actually, we ordered the plus size and in reality it is marked by the company (Coquette) as OS/XL. No clear sizing information is given. The size chart lists a queen one size that should fit size 18--26 but this seems inaccurate for this item. I wear a size 12/14 with 40" hips and this fits me easily, although it would also comfortably fit (my best guess) up to a size 20 (46' hips). The unstretched elastic band at the top of the panty measures 16.5" and stretches out to 22". I could probably fit the one size fits most but I may be over stretching them so I'll stick with the plus size. If you are in the middle of sizing, use your best judgement about your body but I would probably order down if I got another pair of these.

There are 5 rows of light pink ruffles alternating with 4 rows of white ruffles. The ruffles are sewn with an elastic stitch to sheer white fabric. There is a 2" white bow centered on the front top band. I like this pretty detail. The material is listed on the tag as 82% nylon and 18% spandex. They are soft and not itchy at all. The high percentage of spandex gives the easy stretch to these pantys. The look of the fabric is a sheer mesh. This made-in-China garment is hand washable and should be line dried. Anyone who knows me, already knows that I put these type hand washables in a net lingerie bag and machine wash and machine dry. This came through in fine condition.

Overall, I like these pantys. The color and design are A+, as is the comfort. They do fall short in some areas. The edges of the ruffles are unfinished and the risk of the fabric unraveling or "curling up" always exists. There is no elastic band on the leg openings, but the fabric is finished with an embroidery like stich. There is a crotch liner, but I do not think it is cotton but rather a heavier, opaque version of the nylon/spandex blend. It is not addressed anywhere on this garment so I have to go with the crotch liner also being nylon/spandex. The lack of clear sizing guidelines is also a negative trait of this item.

$15.99 is on the high side for panties, at least for me. I have purchased nicer looking and better made undergarments at the well known (but "secret") mall, catalogue and on-line store for lower prices, particularly when they go on sale. In addition, if I go to the mall, I can see, feel and try on the panties. I make less purchasing mistakes that way!

These panties are soft and hip hugging. I would describe the style of the panty as a feminine "boy short". Even though there is no elastic band around the leg openings, they hug the body and are not flouncy like some "boy style" shorts.

These pantys have grown on me, and even though I liked them when I wrote the review, I would bump these up to 4 stars now. Although the edges are not finished, they have not frayed during repeated machine washing. They are puffy looking, but soft and thin enough that they can be worn under fitted slacks without any lumps or bumps visible. I like them more each time I wear them and will be ordering them in the blue and the red/black.
