Sheer thigh high stay up stockings - stockings discontinued by Coquette - review by Breas

The Sheer Thigh High Stay Up Stockings by Coquette are sheer white and available only in one-size-fits-most. The stockings arrived in a plastic package. The front of the package has a photo of a model wearing the stockings and states the brand name. The back of the packaging states the product name, colour, size, care instructions, company contact information, and company website. There is also a photo of a model wearing the stockings on the back of the packaging. The packaging is not ideal for storing the stockings when they are not being worn. I prefer keeping my stockings in my sock drawer.



Inside of the packaging, the stockings are wrapped around a thin piece of cardboard. The packaging does not mention the material composition but the product page says that they are nylon. I think it’s safe to assume that the stockings are 100% nylon with 3 silicone elastic bands at the top of the stocking. The stockings have a lot of stretch to them in both width and length. I’ve taken a few measurements of the stockings laying flat, unstretched. If you need additional measurements please let me know and I can get them for you.

What is nice about these stockings is the silicone bands at the top of the stocking. These bands ensure that the stockings stay in place while you wear them. A lot of thigh highs require the wearer to use garter straps to hold the thigh highs up because they do not have silicone bands like these stockings. There are 3 elastic silicone bands. The bands are 3/8 inches in length each. The banded area at the top of the stocking is approximately 2 ¼ inches in length.

The toe area of the stockings is not reinforced. Below the band at the top of the stocking, the white sheer material is extra thin. Putting the stockings on is simple and quick because there are no designs to them that needs to be aligned with your legs. Just be sure to be gentle while putting them on because the extra thin material makes it more prone to snagging.

When I wore the stockings, I was only able to pull the stockings up so far on my thigh before muffin top action started happening. I’ve got quite thick legs and thighs so this isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this with stockings. The stockings started creating muffin top on my legs at a circumference of 21 inches. If the circumference of your thighs is smaller than this, you won’t have this issue. For me, it’s not a huge deal because I’ll wear the stockings with a skirt, which will cover the muffin top area so no one will see it.

The silicone bands did a fantastic job at holding the stockings up while I was wearing them. I can move around without the fear of the band rolling or the stockings falling. The silicone really grips the skin so that the stockings stay in place. I wish all of my stockings had these silicone bands to them! Below are a couple photos of me wearing the stockings. The first photo is an up close shot of the silicone banding and the second photo is a front view of the stockings. You can see that I have the top of the stockings pulled up very high on my thighs. I was able to pull them much further up but the further I went, the more muffin top would have happen. Also, I kept the bands a bit lower because I didn’t want to be completely exposed in the photo.



The material to the stockings is very comfortable. I do not have any complaints of skin irritation while wearing them. The packaging states that the stockings should be hand washed in cold water and drip dried. The stockings should not be bleached or ironed.

Overall, I think these are excellent stockings for those with a smaller thigh circumference than myself. I was extremely impressed with the grip that the silicone bands had. I’ve deducted one star because the toe area is not reinforced. It’s also a shame that the stockings are only available in the colour white and only in the one-size-fits-most. I’d love a pair of these stockings in a tan colour!

I still like the thigh highs! The silicone grips are fantastic, they fit well, and they are comfortable! I'm still very happy with them.
