Makin waves - costume discontinued by DreamGirl - review by TitsMcScandal

I have a job that requires me to wear a costume every day in the month of October, which means I'm always on the lookout for new and cute costumes no matter what time of the year. Now let's be clear, this is marketed and sold as a costume, not a bedroom roleplay attire. I have super short lingerie that is roleplay themed and I have no problems with it being short because it is intended for bedroom use.

So obviously by the intro this is a short costume, covering barely half my butt. As a plus sized girl, my ass is plus sized too (I wear a 18/20 in bottoms). If you have a flatter butt this outfit may work better for you, but even then I would have some hesitation. I do also acknowledge that Halloween costumes are getting shorter and more low cut with every passing year it seems. But this is just impractical. You would need to wear shorts or leggings under this to even make it passable for leaving the house and unless you have that stuff or are okay with buying it extra my recommendation is to leave it out of the shopping cart.

Now that we've got the major problem out of the way I can talk about the rest of the costume. The actual outfit is very well made, you can tell that this isn't just going to be ruined in one night, which I like. None of the threading is coming undone and the material is thick enough to not be see through but thin enough not to cause discomfort/overheating.

The cup area is much smaller than anticipated as well. I am a 36DD and I'm spilling over in it. I would say that a C cup would fit in here better, but Ds or above should probably pass. It isn't the sexy low cut cleavage look but the cupcake boob look where it cuts into the skin and pops them up and out (too what looks to be) uncomfortably. If you adjust the cloth you can get it where it looks okay and not cupcake boob-ish but then my boobs aren't completely in the cup. The bodice part of the outfit is really nice though. It fits nicely without being too confining. It gives the hourglass look without any actual boning.

The accessories are the long sleeve shrug and the hat. The shrug I wouldn't really count as an accessory because I think it is as much a part of the actual outfit. Especially because without it, the outfit looks incomplete. I was worried because my arms are definitely more plus sized than some other parts of me. In other costumes I've tried on, long sleeves sometimes make the outfit not fit. However, this outfit was a winner with the sleeves. The material was stretchy enough to fit comfortably with range of motion still in tact. The hat is... meh. I am not a huge hat person, especially with outfits. This one is pretty average. Cloth and nothing too spectacular. I have never worn it with the outfit though. If you were to wear it out it would definitely need to be secured somehow.

Cleaning the garment is pretty easy. Well, I am very lazy with cleaning everything gets thrown into the washer. So far this has not seen any damage from the washer so while you can hand wash, spot clean, or put it in a lingerie bag; if you are lazy with cleaning and want to just throw it in there shouldn't be any damage. Which is just a testament to the quality of the workmanship.

I can't decide whether or not I like this outfit. Quality wise, it is great. But my butt and boobs make it unwearable outside of the bedroom. I think that on someone with a butt that wasn't so outward and a smaller chest, it would fit fine. The size up (3x/4x) might have fit those areas better for me, but in the bodice it probably would have been baggy. My size measurements so you can gauge how you might fit...
