Packaging:
The chemise arrives on a white, satin, padded lingerie hanger and is secured inside a clear garment bag. These are perfect for gift giving or storage and is Coquette's classiest packaging available. To give this as a gift, I would suggest folding it carefully , leaving it in the bag, and placing it in a gift bag or box.

Details:
The first thing I noticed about the chemise was obviously the bright and numerous sequins on the bust area, followed by the Vinyl trim on the cups. What an amazing contrast and use of materials! Add the sheer mesh and soft, maribou feathers & you have a very classy, eyecatching and elegant chemise. I will wear this for Valentine's Day and Christmas, it is appropriate for both holidays.

The skirt has an a-line shape and drapes flatteringly around your lower torso and belly area. It hangs down to my upper thighs, but I do have a very short torso. For those a bit taller, this chemise might hit the lower stomach or upper pubic region.

There is a rope of maribou feathers on the hem, & it is tacked on every 2 inches. I wrapped red tinsel rope around the feathers and it made a very pretty and festive look for the holidays. You could also wrap ribbon around the rope and tie a bow on one side or the front.

The top is a basic bust & cup design, and the band has hook and eye fasteners for adjustment. Along the bottom seam of the bust area and the side seams, the sequins were sewn into the hem. These sequins are very sharp and will cause raised scratches on your skin.

There is a simple fix that takes about 15 minutes. Carefully separate the threads of the seam from the sequin-make sure not to break the threads-and snip the sequin to the hole with a pair of very small sewing scissors. You may have to do this a couple times per sequin depending on the placement in the seam. Remove the offending sequin and toss.

The cups are very supportive, especially after you adjust the shoulder straps. They are heavily padded for a push-up effect, and it really works!! I had boobies under my chin--but my hubby loved the look!! He actually thought I had either been working out or they grew. Either way, he said my 42 year old boobs looked about 20 again, so that made my night! The vinyl trim is very slick and shiny but does compliment the bust very well.

Material:
The material is 82% Nylon and 18% Spandex. There is obviously vinyl trim, maribou feather trim and sequins which are not included on the material label. The skirt is sheer, black colored fine mesh and is stretchy. This material makes a very flattering drape for your figure and flows while you walk.

The bust area has about 3/4" padding and is very shaped and firm. It is super comfortable and acts as a push up bra. You may overflow if you are like me and have bigger breasts. For this reason alone, I will not be wearing this chemise to any parties. The only stretchy area on the bust is the band. The straps are not removable but are adjustable to help add support.

Quality:
The actual garment seams are well sewn and do match up. I did find a few flaws with the quality of the garment, however and feel I need to point them out. They are easy to fix, for the most part, and require minimal sewing skills.

--The sequins are not well sewn. They were falling off inside the garment bag upon arrival and several of them have unraveled. You may need to re-stitch some of the sequins on and also stitch over the loose threads.
--The maribou feathers are tacked onto the hem every two inches. You may want to gently remove the feather rope for washing the chemise and re-sew or fix snaps to the hem and rope.
--The sequins in the hem, which I did cover in a previous paragraph.

Care & Storage:
Hand wash ONLY! Wash the chemise in cool water with a mild cleaner. I use the Dona Lingerie Wash and do not wring it out after it is rinsed. Hang this on a plastic hanger to air dry-do not use the padded hanger it arrives on. Do NOT use a dryer, it will ruin the material and sequins.

When the chemise is dry, gently fluff the feathers with a hair dryer and your fingers, combing through them to re-fluff and separate the strands. I go over them lightly with a dryer sheet to minimize the loss of feather strands. You may want to remove the feather rope prior to washing as mentioned in the above paragraph.

Store this on the original hanger and place it inside the garment bag to prevent sequins from dropping and getting spread throughout your house. I also like the bag for long term storage between holidays.

Since I removed the sequins from the hem and no longer am getting cut and scraped by them I like this one a lot more. It would be better, though, if the rest did not fall off while wearing it--and around the house as a teaser, none the less!!

This is pretty but not as durable with the sequins. A sad ending for a gorgeous holiday garment with so much potential!
