Putting On Some Sexy

Once in this outfit, I felt sexy and alluring. Florence is so totally worth the price, and I'm surprised it comes at such a low price point; it is definitely worth every penny. Florence may not be a terribly sexy name, but this lingerie is!

extremely useful review
Florence is a sheer black stretch lace mini-dress by DreamGirl. It is a halter top with attached garters and stockings in a floral lace pattern. It pairs really nicely with black panties, gloves, and a choker, or can be worn on its own and still look really polished. The fact that the dress AND garter/stockings are included for the price make this an excellent value.

The first time you take it out of the plastic envelope it comes in, and unwrap it from the little square of cardboard it's wrapped around, it looks very small. And smells a bit funny from the plastic. Once you shake it out and begin putting it on, you can see just how stretchy this garment is. It's made out of Spandex and Nylon, so not only does it stretch a lot, it's surprisingly comfy!

Getting into this outfit can be a bit of a challenge. I am not very flexible, and the only lingerie I'd previously worn was slips and peignoirs. On first (and second) inspection, it's very confusing. The halter top is basically three straps that meet the dress, then you have the garters and stockings. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how I was supposed to get into the thing.

I decided to put on the stockings first and then pull the top over my head and shoulders. I tried this, and had to bend myself in half (no easy feat!) to get the top over my head. Then the edge snagged on my bubble butt, and I had to shimmy/crabwalk around the room like a weirdo to get it down and get my arms and head through the proper holes. I am so glad my partner didn't witness that! As it was, I was laughing hysterically at my reflection in the mirror.

Once it was on, it was very comfortable. I am 5'7" and the bottom edge of the dress almost reached the bottom of my butt cheeks, and the stockings sat at a comfortable height on my thighs. I wouldn't recommend this if you're much taller, depending on my position, the garter would pull the very low-cut bodice of the dress right down under my breasts.

The material is not exactly soft, but not very scratchy either. I was worried it would itch my sensitive skin, but I was alright in it for more than an hour without a reaction. It is incredibly clingy; I ordered the Plus size and, as a size 20 with a bra size of 42D, this fit me like a second skin. I found the bodice was really low though, and it might just be my breasts, but they kept wanting to jump out of the top.

The quality of the garment is surprisingly good. I thought it would be very delicate lace that would tear easily, but I've worn it a few times without issue. There is no reinforced toe area, so make sure to give yourself a pedicure beforehand, long or sharp toenails will definitely rip through the lace. The stitching and seams are very secure, since I was able to fight to get it onto my body without ripping it.

Taking it off is much easier; simply pull in your arms and let it slide down to your feet. This is how you should be putting it on, too. Put your legs through the bodice before putting them into the stockings, so you can slide the rest up your body. MUCH easier!

Since this outfit is made of black lace, it can get stained with certain white bodily fluids. Hand wash it gently in warm water with a gentle detergent and I would lie it flat to dry, since hanging it could cause it to stretch out. Surprisingly, the lace doesn't catch a lot of pet hair, so simply wiping it with a dryer sheet should remove any fur that does stick. Be mindful when storing it that lace catches very easily on zippers and velcro, so keeping it in a soft drawstring bag or the plastic bag it came in should keep it safe from ripping any threads loose, or simply store it with your other delicates.
Follow-up commentary
I've worn Florence several times now, and it performs as well as it ever did; there's been no issues with it losing shape or unraveling. Surprisingly, I haven't had any tears or rips happen, and the colour has not faded at all. This is still a great piece and one of my most favourite boudoir outfits.
