Diva frisky french maid - costume discontinued by Coquette - review by TameTemptress

The Diva Frisky French Maid set by Coquette comes with a black dress, a white apron, and a headpiece.

The black dress is made of Lycra and lace, and should be hand washed and hung to dry according to the care instructions. I have personally put this in the washing machine on a delicate cycle, with cold water, and had no issues... but proceed at your own risk if you do (I think it would be fine though, mine has been). I hang it to dry though; I don't think this could stand up to heat from the dryer.

There is a contrasting white lace detail at the bottom of the dress and around the neckline. There is also a white ribbon lace up detail on the front. You could use this to tighten the dress if you wanted to, but I found the dress to be form fitting enough myself and I think it's more for decorative purposes. You can take the ribbon out if it's not your style.

This is a pull-over dress. Overall I think it is incredibly figure flattering. The straps are adjustable. The bodice is form fitting. There isn't much support though, no boning or underwire, and it didn't really give me any extra "va va voom" there... but if you wear it with a bra that helps. The skirt is full, and falls just a bit above my knees (I'm 5'8"). This is one of the longer French Maid costumes I have seen and what originally drew me to this. It's sexy, and perfect for role-playing, but could still be worn to a costume party if you wanted.

The dress is well made with strong stitching. I feel that it will last a long time, even with repeated use.

The silky white apron is not attached to the dress, and ties in the back. It could be worn on its own, maybe with the headpiece for a naughtier maid look.

The headpiece is cute, but flimsy. I would need to use bobby pins and style my hair around it to keep it in. It's almost like a headband, but too short to be. There is a wire to help it keep shape, but it's not a very strong one.

I do feel that the sizing runs a bit small. I got the 1x/2x, and for most clothing, I can wear an XL or 1X. This fit perfectly, and other than lots of room for larger hips with the full skirt of this, I don't see it fitting someone much bigger than me. It has some stretch to it, but not much. I'm 5'8", and my measurements are 44" bust, 36" waist, and 44" hips.

The packaging was simple: A plastic bag with hanger attached that you could certainly re-use to store this in. A cardboard insert shows a model wearing the costume.

I wish it came with a little feather duster, but that's easy enough to get by itself, and I think this maid costume is well worth the price here at EdenFantasys. I plan to wear this for my husband on his birthday so I can tend to his every whim.

This is such a sweet and simple maid costume and I *LOVE* that it's sexy, but not overly so. It can be dressed up, or down and it's just one of my favorite costumes.
