Ruffled panty - sexy panty discontinued by Coquette - review by Breas

The Ruffled Panty by Coquette is available in one-size-fits-most and plus size in the colour black. I purchased the plus size of the panty because I wear an XL and feared that the OSFM would be too tight on me.

The panty is packaged in a clear plastic bag. There was a barcode sticker on the bag that also stated the colour and size of the underwear. The packaging is ideal for shipping but not for storage. I keep my panty in my underwear drawer.

The panty had a cardboard tag attached to it. The tag states the company name, company website, colour of panty, size, and has a couple of photos of a model wearing the underwear. The panty is 82% nylon and 18% spandex. The material is very stretchy. There is also elastic band around the leg holes and waist of the panty.

I’ve taken a few measurements of the panty but if you need additional measurements, please let me know and I will get them for you.

Waistband unstretched: 14 inches
Waistband stretched as much as I can: 36 inches
Length down side of panty: 2 inches
Length of liner: 3 ¼ inches

The panty is fairly simple yet so darn feminine! The material to the panty is a sheer, soft mesh. The only part of the panty that is not sheer is where the lining in the crotch is. There is ruching down the centre back of the panty that creates a gathered look on the bum (in a good way). The photos below of the panty are with no flash. The colour of the panty is a dark black but with the flash, the details of the panty weren’t as easily seen.





Along the top of the panty and around the leg holes, there is mesh ruffle trim. The trim goes around to the back of the panty as well. The trim is approximately ½ of an inch in length. At the top centre of the panty, there is a small black bow made of ribbon.

One important thing about the ruffle trim is that it sits on the elastic band around the leg holes and waistband. What this means is that the more you need to stretch these areas, the less ruffled the trim will look. When I stretched out the waistband as much as I could for the measurements above, there was no ruffle left. Basically what the trim ends up looking like is just a flap of fabric hanging off the waistband or leg holes. If you’re an XL like me, you’ll probably want to opt for the plus size because I can only imagine that the OSFM would probably be ruffle-less after I got into them.

When I tried on the panty, I was extremely pleased with the way it looked and felt. As you can see from the measurements above, the panty has a crazy amount of stretch to it. When I had the panty on, all of the ruffles were still looking gorgeous and the bit of stretch that I needed didn’t affect the look of them. The ruching down the centre back of the panty (basically where your bum crack is) really adds a feminine touch to the panty and looks lovely when worn. I didn’t have any issues with the bum area not fitting me.

If I were to have ordered the OSFM rather than the plus size, I am sure that my opinion would be completely different on the appearance of the panty while worn. The trim would not be ruffled after I stretched it out, and the bum area probably would have needed to be stretched so much that there would be no ruching left.

About 3 seconds ago I took my hip measurements and the measurement is 41 inches. After looking at the brand’s sizing chart, their plus size (which they call “queen size”) is best for those with hip measurements between 48-56 inches. You might be thinking to yourself, “hey, you’re below that!” Well, the OSFM size chart suggests that the hip measurements best for that size is 36-42. I am at the very end of that scale which means that I’d probably end up with muffin top, ruffle-less trim, and a big bum that can’t fit into the smaller underwear. If you like the appearance of the panty in the stock photo on the product page, you need to realize that you can’t stretch the panty to the max and still have it look like that.

The material to the panty is really soft and I have no complaints of skin irritation while wearing them. The panty is pretty enough to be worn in the bedroom but comfortable enough to be worn as an everyday panty. You will want to cut the tag out of the back though because it can be seen through the sheer material of the panty. The care tag states that the panty should be hand washed only and hung to dry.

Overall, I love the underwear! I love the way they look on me and they’re very comfortable too. I may end up purchasing a few more pairs because I like them so much!

I still LOVE the Ruffled Panty! I've worn the panty many times since the original review. It's so cute and so comfortable! I've actually thrown the panty in a lingerie bag in the washing machine on cold and it's still in perfect condition. I've actually been doing this since the original review so I know that it doesn't hurt the panty. I really want this panty to be available in more colours so I can purchase them all!
