Twinkle me pink chemise set - chemise discontinued by Coquette - review by MuffysPinguLove

My boyfriend loves it when I wear soft material almost as much as he loves the way lingerie looks on me. So, when I saw the Twinkle me pink chemise set by Coquette, I figured I would surprise him with a new smooth piece of lingerie. Not only is the chemise gorgeous, it's made out of one of the most comfortable materials I've ever worn. The tag says that it's made of 90% Nylon and 10% Spandex and the packaging refers to the material as Microfiber. The material feels a little like silk, but is a lot more breathable. It also reminds me of polyester with the stretch of spandex. I love the cool feeling of the microfiber against my skin, especially if I put it on after I've just shaved or put on lotion.

The chemise looks like a short nightgown with a built in bra at the top. The bottom dress portion is made out of smooth black microfiber and has a little bit of a wavy design at the bottom. The bra top of the chemise is decorated in black lace sewn into a padded cup with underwire. Each cup has paisley designs in the lace and magenta colored sequins arranged in patterns that look like leaves. The lace continues about half an inch over where the cup ends and about two inches up each strap. This area of lace is see through and ends in a wavy design similar to the bottom of the dress. Between the two cups is a black bow with the coquette lips logo, made out of metal, hanging from it. The straps of the chemise set are adjustable, which is awesome, because I often have trouble with straps fitting me perfectly. The back of the chemise has elastic sewn into it to keep it tight against the body.

The Twinkle me pink chemise set is available in S, M, L, XL, 1X-2X. I often have trouble when it comes to sizing, because I usually fall into the medium category, but I have issues with lingerie fitting my medium-ish sized body and my 36D boobs. The Coquette size chart states that a medium should fit sizes 8-10 with a B cup and a bust of 36-38 in. When it comes to lingerie, I generally wear around a size 8; the medium looked like it would be my best bet, but the cup size was two sizes too small. The large size is supposed to fit sizes 12-14 with a C cup and a bustline of 38-40 inches. I decided I would rather it fit snuggly around my body and possibly have my breasts spilling out a little bit, rather than it fit around my busts a little better, but be swimming in the rest of the dress. As expected from the sizing, the cup size is smaller on the chemise than I would like, however it doesn't look bad. The rest of the dress fits me perfectly. Personally, I think the underwire leaves a little bit to be desired and could be a little thicker, but it does add adequate support to the outfit.

I figured I would take some of my own measurements to help others decide which size to buy:

Bottom of skirt 21” across

Underneath the breasts 12” across

The Cups are 5” from top to bottom and are each 5 1/2” across

The length of the dress is 20” from the bottom of the cup to bottom of the dress

The Chemise set also comes with a low rise thong made out of the same microfiber material as the chemise. The thong fit me a little snuggly, but wasn't by any means too tight. The waist of the thong is about 15” across and like the chemise, is very stretchy. I found the thong to be quite comfortable, and it's been through about three hand washes without deteriorating at all.

The washing instructions state that the chemise should be hand washed in cold water only. It should also be drip dried and never bleached or ironed. Like the thong, the chemise has lasted through multiple washings. I was worried the lace area might begin to pull or fall apart, but I've yet to see any distress caused by washing.

I would love to wear this chemise as a night gown, because it's so soft and comfortable. I haven't used it for this purpose yet, since I worry that rolling around in my sleep might deteriorate the lace or sequins at the top. This chemise has easily become my boyfriend's favorite piece of lingerie, mostly because of how soft and smooth it is. I love the feel of this chemise so much that I would purchase another piece of lingerie merely because it was made out of the same material.

The box it comes packaged in has a picture of a model on the front wearing the chemise along with the company name and style number. There's a graphic that looks like the box is crisscrossed with a red ribbon and tied with a bow. The bottom of the box has a see through plastic area so that you can see the chemise inside. The back of the box has a picture of the model turned and showing the back of the chemise. The ribbon graphic continues onto the sides and back of the box as if it is wrapped like a present. The ribbon graphic makes the box suitable for gift giving.
