Bon voyeur bra and garter set - bra and panty set discontinued by Seven 'til Midnight - review by Sweet-n-Playful

The Bon Voyeur Bra and Garter Set is a welcome addition to my ever expanding lingerie collection. My partner has a particular soft spot for anything with garters, so when I saw this little pink set, I knew I just had to have it for our Valentine's Day. I wore this set under my dress while we went to dinner that night and I was perfectly comfortable in it. On the way home, I teased him with little peek-a-boos in the car so by the time we got home, he couldn't wait to see the whole thing on me.

This is a three piece set, including a bra, panties, and a garter belt. All of the items are a lovely shade of vibrant dark pink with black accents. The print is a toile, with flowers, vines, and Victorian women laid out in panties and garters. It is quite detailed and really very pretty.

The bra is lightly padded and has underwire. It is not a push-up bra. The top of the cups is edged in sheer black lace, which will expose the nipples. The front of the straps have a little bow and the back of the straps are fully adjustable. This will make it easy for women of all heights to wear. The straps are not removable. The bra has three columns of standard hook and eye closures. The only thing is, they are located on the front. This is rare for a front closing bra, as they are usually equipped with an alternative, more subtle type of clasp. Women who do not fasten it on the tightest setting will have a column or two of the closures showing right in front, which is a downside. However, this does make the bra very easy to remove, which is a plus.

The panties are oh so soft and stretchy. In the front, they have a satin bow in the center. The two hip panels are sheer lace to show off a little skin. The back has ruching down the middle, which draws in the material and accentuates your butt. This will make every butt look a little rounder; it happens to be one of my favorite panty styles. These are full coverage panties, which means they cover the entire butt and don't show any of your cheeks.

Lastly, the garter belt is what pulls the entire look together. The garter belt is also adorned with a front center bow. The garters extend from sheer lace triangles and are also fully adjustable but not removable. The garter belt has the same three column hook and eye closure as the bra but this time, thankfully, it is in the back. This is probably because they are so fun to keep on that they get worn during sex a lot anyway.

For those new to garters, let's have a quick discussion on the basics. The first step is to clip it around your waist at the desired width. Remember, the garter belt shouldn't fit too low on you, as it will be holding up your stockings. Yes, this set does require a separate stocking purchase; these are relatively inexpensive and will be fine in either a nude or black shade. If you want to match the retro look of this set and have a few extra dollars to spare, I suggest springing for the stockings with back-seams for the extra visual appeal. The garter straps will adjust the same way as bra straps do. You will know that they are the correct length for you when they are slightly stretched while you are standing. There are four garter straps in total: one for the front of each stocking and one for the back of each stocking. To clip them, simply place the rubber circle through the plastic ring. Then, slide the rubber circle down to secure it. Oh, and one last thing, make sure that you put the garter belt on BEFORE the panties, so that you can remove the panties while still wearing the garters and stockings.

There are specified instructions on the care of this product (which I have already ignored). However, Seven 'til Midnight specifies the following on their care tag:

I have already machine washed and dried this. It held up just fine in my opinion. However, if you plan to wear it more often and are worried it won't hold up as well, hand washing is probably the way to go. I personally do not wear each of my special lingerie items that often, so I don't get too stressed about it.

Now, the last thing I would like to discuss are the measurements. First, a little about myself. I have a petite and curvy body type. I usually wear an 8/10, a medium, and a 34 C/D cup. I am 5'4", 150lb, and 36-32-40.

This bra will best fit a 34 to a 36, in either a C or D cup. The panties will at most fit up to a 38" waist and the garter belt will at most fit a 40" waist.
