Sexy Sleep Wear

If this had adequate breast support I would have given it 4 stars, but the sizing for this just made it look frumpy. I really wish it fit more to hug the curves since the pattern is super sexy, but this mini dress just ran way larger than what I am used to for Coquette and I doubt a smaller size would fix the design flaws.
Published:
Pros
Sexy pattern, comfortable, longer length.
Cons
Size runs large from other Coquette (but chart is pretty accurate where it's usually off).

extremely useful review
In my search for some sexy sleep wear that is comfortable and cute, I have struck out again. The last one was a bit too sexy and this one fits way too large and looks a bit frumpy. Unfortunately, I have doubts that even in a smaller size, this would fit correctly in the chest. It is very comfortable though!

*Contents/overview:

This one piece from Coquette is a chemise babydoll with a (semi) matching pantie. It has padding and underwire as well as adjustable straps. The body has a mesh heart pattern that I absolutely love!

*Material:

When I took the chemise out of the box, I noticed a weird smell. It is hard to explain...kind of like latex? It might be because of all the spandex in this so if you are allergic to latex, stay away from this lingerie piece. It also felt like it might not be comfortable, but when I tried it on, it didn't irritate at all. It is made of 82% Nylon and 18% spandex. This blend seems to breathe really well. The black mesh is see through with a random velvet heart pattern all over it which look very sexy!

*Design/craftsmanship

This chemise is a mini-dress that has a very nice length for sleeping or for more coverage if that is what you are looking for. It comes to about my mid thigh and covers my entire butt. The front has a solid body with regular underwire and slightly padded cups. They are also lines with two layers of mesh that depending on your breast size, can be positioned to show your nipples. The cups are also a pink color that semi shows through the mesh (this is what matches the panties). Attached to the cups are adjustable straps like on a bra. The back only has a piece of thin stretchy spandex that the straps attach to. Nothing fancy back there.

The panties have a pink shell with black trim. They are a T-string style with a sliding back portion that i recommend you sewing in place. They do not have a pantie liner.

*Cleaning/care/storage:

The tag says to hand wash. I would do this in cool water and lay flat to dry. Mesh dries really fast. If the padding in the cups is still damp, you can take a blow dryer to those on mild heat.

It comes in a box with a picture of a model on the front and back showing the front and back of the piece. It is large enough that it is easy to just refold and store inside. You can also hang or fold to put in a drawer.
Experience
*Sizing:

Coquette has always fit me like a glove or close to in almost all cases, but this time I was not pleasantly surprised. This chemise looked like a smock on me! It is huge. I am not sure what accounts for the large size but it also looks large on the model. One could argue that this is the style, perhaps it is more relaxed. However, this makes a huge problem for the chest. Since the band is so relaxed, the support that is supposed to be given by the underwire and padding is useless. It just kind of sits on top of my chest instead of underneath it. When I position it doesn't stay there. Damn! The pattern looks so sexy and the material feels so comfortable!

I weigh ~150 pounds (size 8/10); curvy but fit. The large size (I wanted medium but it was out of stock) says it fits a 12-14 dress size, C cup, 38-40" bust, 30-32" waist, 40-42" hip. I'd say that this is somewhat true actually. But the problem is that if you are a usual Coquette shopper, this one will run larger (much larger) than what you are used to.

The chest would fit a C-D if it were fitted to me, but it is hard to say who this would fit if their band size was correct. I really don't think that the super stretchy material (and back) will allow for much support. I hate to say it, but you would benefit from having fake knocker for this one. It's pretty impossible to get good cleavage with this. Sadly, adjusting the straps didn't help either. The band size is large. I have about a 34-36" band and this was very lose on me.

The waist and hips were lose on me as well, which was nice since I wasn't wrestling with it but not good since it looked frumpy from not being form fit. The panties fit me well though and I'm smaller than the sizing chart, so that isn't accurate. I really loved how I could see my tan tattoos (they are also hearts) and the panties through the fabric.

Here is a pic of the fabric and you can also see shadows from the hearts which shows how loose this is on me. I even pulled it back a bit so the hearts were more visible.

So, the chart is fairly accurate at least on the larger end. I've tweaked it however.

Dress: 12-16
Cup: C-D (but might bother a B cup less-but would look silly since the cups wouldn't be filled...loss loss here)
Band: 38-42"
Waist: 32"-34"
Hips: 40-44"
Hips pantie: 37-39"

*Conclusion:

Again this is not a case of me just getting a size that is larger than my norm. My other Coquette products in large have fit me much for formed than this. I have to give it a 3 because of running large, and the breast support design is horrible. If I didn't want something that looked sexy, this would be good for sleeping, but even then I don't like my breasts not being somewhat supported.

NOTE: Mine does not have the charm between the breasts, as shown in the product picture.
Follow-up commentary
Regretfully I wasn't even able to exchange this for the smaller size because it was out of stock so I exchanged it for something else. I was able to find this pattern from Coquette in other styles and i plan on trying those instead. The bust isn't good on this at all.

Great review! I'd been wanting this, but am a tad unsure about the sizing now..

It runs pretty large, and the breast support is horrible. So, If you have medium sized breasts you can just order the size lower than normal and should be fine. Otherwise...it's kind of a shot in the dark.

@Lauren Yeah, that's what I was taking from your review. But I'm worried that it'll be (like you say) kinda frumpy. I appreciate the great review as always!

I was looking at this, thinking I would like it because I love the pattern, but I must have breast support. What little boobs I have left need all the boost they can get. I doubt now it would fit me anyway. Thanks for such a thorough review!

not gonna fit me but great review!!!

    @red-No problem!

@buzzvibe- The only way it really would give support is if your band size is small and your breast size is medium (and you ordered a size down). That's my guess anyways because the material is too stretchy to support the breast support lol.

Hmmm . . . How weird about the band!
    Great review though.

Awesome review Lauren, too bad this wasn't great, it really looked like it would have been by the picture. Shame its so loose on you

Can you atleast salvage it by making simple fixes?
  • Contributor: ~LaUr3n~
No unfortunately it is just too lose everywhere and because of the band I don't think an alterations would help and would likely be unsightly. I went in search of something else since this was out of stock in the lower sizes. I actually was going to try small.
