Lace mini dress & thigh highs - gartered mini dress discontinued by Music legs - review by deltalima

When you order this lace mini dress & thigh highs, it comes in a plastic box and wrapped within a plastic bag like most other clothing pieces we get here. I ripped open the box and and instantly ran to the bathroom to try this on. The set consists of the long-sleeved top and the thigh high stockings.

Now here's the frustrating tricky part. When you click the product link and read the overview it says "Lace turtle neck long sleeves keyhole back mini with garter clips comes with matching lace top thigh hi set. One size fits most." The problem with this is that the lace top is attached to the thigh highs with strips of lace. When I looked through the product info, I thought it meant the 'garter' could be taken off. So to put this on, you would first have to put the top and snap the closure at the back of the neck, then pull the thigh highs up.

What I don't like is that with the garters attached to the thigh highs, it doesn't do any job of holding it up, if anything the garters accomplish the opposite. It drags the thigh highs down and creates a dowdy appearance. Looking sexy waist up is easy with this, it's the whole picture I'm irritated with. I'd like to think that I have an average body/built. So if the thigh highs were slipping down my legs, I don't know if skinnier people could wear this any better.

I ordered one size fits most. Since this is quite stretchy, I believe this would fit most. I'm a dress size of 4 and while I have love handles, this is surprising flattering on me. The cut-out back is also very alluring.

This is a lace delicate set and while it is light, for the most part it doesn't feel cheap. The exception being the lace edges that pass for 'garters'. That is a really pitiful addition to what is an exceptionally well-made set.

This set is made with nylon which is really resilient. It is also a hypo-allergenic material and is resistant to oils, chemicals and fraying. When I've used lotions and alcohol-sprays, the fabric isn't affected and it doesn't wear down the pieces. As for washing, I hand wash this in soapy lukewarm water and hang it to dry.

As far as my sensors being tickled by this set, other than the feel of the lace, I didn't notice anything. The material is soft and not at all irritating. Usually I hate clothing with lace because my skin is quite sensitive to it and it usually breaks me out in hives. I didn't have a problem with that here.

After trying this set and being quite pissed about the lame 'garters' that served no functional purpose, I grabbed my seam ripper and scissors and detached the thigh highs. Now, I'm left with a sexy long-sleeved top that I wear as a dress or under a blazer as a top. And the thigh highs by themselves stay up and fit snugly. I actually like wearing these with my thigh high boots so the lace peeks from the top of the boots. I am so much happier with this modified set.

I found a slip dress to wear underneath this that is the same length. That way, I can wear it out and it doesn't seem x-rated. I still wear the 'thigh highs' even though I have separated them. I have knee high boots so I wear them with the boots and the lace peeks out.
