Starburst babydoll and g-string - babydoll and panties set by Coquette - review by Airen Wolf

I normally do not impulse request products to review. The minute I saw the new Holiday line of products from Coquette, however, I knew I wanted to try them in whatever way I had available! The other products I have from coquette are cute, functional, flatter my figure and are just exactly what I love in a piece of lingerie. I have rarely been disappointed by Coquette.
I was expecting something dark and mysterious from the pictures offered by the site but what I got shimmers and sparkles in the light. It is most definitely holiday themed and perfect for a special play party, clubbing, or a special evening with a lover.


The Holiday Starburst Baby Doll from Coquette is made of Lycra and Mesh. It is lightweight, sheer and breathable. The lycra is soft and silky. Far from being scratchy and stiff the mesh portions flow and drape beautifully. There is a rhinestone detail between the breasts that adds just a touch of whimsy and sparkle to the bodice which is otherwise unadorned.

As you can see the accent isn't sewn on terribly securely so care will have to be taken during washing to be sure the threads securing it aren't twisted and snap. On the other hand this type of sewing does give movement to the "jewel" so that it emphasizes your breasts when you breathe. This is a good thing for larger breasted women, such as myself, since the bra portion is unsupported by an underwire. There is also a lack of bra like closure that could lend a bit of support as well. The lack of underwire or bra like support band makes the baby doll very comfortable to sleep in, however.

Another feature that may cause problems for some buyers is the fact that the straps are not adjustable. If you get the proper size the straps will sit in a sort of starburst pattern on your shoulder and crisscross in the back creating a lovely look. The back of the baby doll is elasticized and rests comfortably on the skin.

Coquette offers this in OS and XL. The sizing is as follows:

There is not much separation between the simple black bodice and the amazingly embroidered mesh skirt. The simple double turned bias binding leads to 17 inches of white and silver thread embroidered soft mesh fabric. Just take a look at this gorgeous work! This is the real story of this piece.

Beautiful snowflakes embroidered on see through mesh making it look like your skin is sparkling in the soft light of candles. The embroidery helps to camouflage any trouble spots you may have in your midsection and it does it in style. Honestly, it does...though with a bit of support for the girls it would be perfect. If I am going to be wearing this top out of the house I will use either a beautiful black bra that has straps that match the straps on the baby doll, or I will wear a bandau bra. I really don't recommend wearing this if you are much larger than a DD.

The thong that comes with the set is pretty typical of the breed except for the embroidery that will make your coochy sparkle! It is not lined so it's not so good for for everyday wear. I prefer a full back panty but this one is not so bad for a thin butt floss thong!

I really stress hand washing this set without wringing or twisting and allowing it to drip dry. The seams on this piece are strong enough to handle the washing machine (in a lingerie bag) but the embroidery and jewel may not be able to handle the stress of the twisting motion of the washer. You could dry this in a lingerie bag on the no heat setting but it really doesn't take long for it to line dry.
The set arrives in a plastic clothing bag and has a lovely padded hanger.

If this amazing baby doll had had an underwire I would have given it an enthusiastic 5 stars. I love this baby doll enough to wear another form of support if I decide to go out wearing it but for home wear it is superb!
