*Overview

The silhouette of the Pinstripe Woven Panty is the same as your average bikini panty; it sits low on the hips. Instead of being solid material in back, there are 4 thin straps of material per side, with 1 thin strap up the middle to work as a thong.



Where all the straps meet in back there is a large red ribbon tied into a bow. This bow is not functional, and prevents you from wearing this panty under clothing (unless you want to have a little hump on your butt). The bow is sewn shut and cannot be untied. If you don’t like the bow and wish to remove it, you can do that. The thread used to sew the bow to the panties is red too, so you can easily spot those threads on the black material and snip them very carefully to remove the bow. Where all the straps come together in back is hidden by the bow, however, so if you remove the bow you’ll be able to see all the stitching holding the straps together. (And that area alone isn’t particularly attractive.) The front of the panty is made of solid pinstripe material, and meets the 3 main back straps right in the crotch. There is no crotch liner.


*Material

The Pinstripe Woven Panty is made of 100% polyester, exclusive of the trim. (The trim refers to the red ribbon bow in back.) The care instructions are: hand wash only, hang to dry. I did wash it in a lingerie bag on the hand wash cycle of my washer, and it came out just fine. It is very well made, and the stitching looks like it will hold together for a very long time.

The front of the panty is solid, and a little stiff. It's solid black with very subtle silver pinstripes that do shine and sparkle just a bit. The pinstripe material has no stretch to it at all up and down, but does stretch a little side to side. (It doesn't stretch much though.) The straps in back have a bit of stretch to them, but not a ton.


*Sizing notes

This panty comes in only 2 sizes: one size fits most and XL. The information on the sizing chart for this one is WAY off, and I’ve never had that issue with Coquette before. Before buying this, I had noticed a comment from another user (thank you Kaltir!) saying that this runs really small, and I should get the XL. She’s right. I am 5’6” and weigh around 130 or 135 lbs. (I have a fit but curvy body type.) My waist measures about 29” and my hips are about 39”. I usually wear a size 8 or Medium in pants and skirts (sometimes size 6). I usually wear a size Large in panties, simply because I don’t like them to cut into my skin at ALL.

With all of this information, according to the sizing chart, I should easily fit into the One Size Fits Most. It’s labeled as fitting sizes 4-14, waists 26”-31” and hips 36”-42”. This is not true for this panty. The XL is labeled as fitting 14-16, waists 34”-36” and hips 44”-46”. This is not true either. The XL fits me the way I like my panties to fit.

I think the One Size Fits Most would work for bodies up to a size 4 or 6 at most. If you’re larger than a size 4 or 6, go for the XL. The XL should work for sizes 6/8-10. Sadly, this panty will definitely not work for plus size bodies.


*Measurements

The XL Pinstripe Woven Panty measures 16.5” across, unstretched. It stretches up to about 21” across, but that would be uncomfortable since the straps would probably be cutting into your skin pretty badly.

The pinstripe front measure 9” from top to bottom, where the straps meet in the crotch. The main strap of material in back (which acts as the thong part of the panty) also measures 9” from top to bottom, where the strap meets in the crotch.

The first strap out from the center measures 8.75” from top to bottom. The next strap measures 7” from top to bottom. The next strap out measures 10.5” from top to bottom. The outermost strap measures 10” from the outermost edge to the center. The measurements of the straps vary because they have to accommodate the curves (and volume) of the butt that is going to be inside them. They do a good job of that, but be aware that those who have smaller rears (or a bit on the flat side) will not be able to fill this panty out, so those straps may hang just a bit.

*Measurements continued

The bow measures 6” across the top, including both loops. The ribbon hangs down about 7” on both sides, so it does hide a little of your butt. That way, you’re feeling sexy, but not like you’re completely hanging out and exposed. It obscures the butt from view just a tiny bit, making the piece a bit more exciting.


*Craftsmanship

This piece is very well put together and just feels solid all around. There are no loose threads or unfinished edges. I did notice one strange thing about the bow on the panty I got. The ribbon that hangs down from the bow is diagonally cut and the cut edge is finished on one side, but not on the other. On the other side it was mis-cut (perhaps it was at the end of the spool of ribbon) and the cut edge isn’t finished so it has already started fraying just a bit. That is the only issue with craftsmanship I found on this piece.




*Personal experience

I got this panty because I thought it looked really sexy. I usually get things that my partner picks out, but I got this one just for me. It looks really sexy on, and made me feel really sexy too. The straps do not move around or get out of place very much, the way the panty is designed really keeps each strap where it needs to be for the most part. They can sometimes get a little twisted, but they mostly stay in place nicely. I feel that it has just the right combination of revealing my body while not looking trashy. I paired it with a black bra I already had and the lacy robe from the Nude Affair Lingerie Set and it all looked fantastic together! I give this panty 3 stars. I would rate it higher, but the strange sizing takes a star off for me. It’s just not going to work for very many people. (But when it works, boy does it work!)

My partner was dubious about this particular panty because he does not care for overly elaborate lingerie. However, once he saw it on he completely changed his mind. Being a butt man, he enjoyed seeing mine on display, in a classy non-vulgar way. The bow hides a bit, and teases the viewer with little peeks of what’s underneath. He was impressed that the straps stayed almost perfectly in place even as I moved around. He rates this panty 4 or 5 stars.

This is not a piece that can easily be worn during intercourse. It just isn’t stretchy enough to be pulled out of the way. Stick to wearing this panty before the main event, not during.
