Spandex and lace chemise and panty - chemise discontinued by Leg Avenue - review by dynasty123

We finally agreed totally on something!! I never thought this would happen, but it did. It really, really did! Leg Avenue's red Spandex and Lace Chemise and Panty brought us together. We both love the nice red color. It is red, but not so bright that it is garish (something I was afraid it would be). A few years ago I noticed that all my formal dresses were black. I know we all need that "little black dress", but my closet was ridiculous. It was the same with my sex kitten collection of lingerie so I decided that things had to change. There's a new me on the block!

The center front panel is an opaque, stretchy satin material. Often, this is an area that women are self conscious about. Not when you wear this chemise. Starting between the breasts, and then widening, narrowing and widening again to mimic an hourglass, is where the qpaque panel is centered. This gives me the illusion of an hourglass figure--something I do not have, but have always wanted. From each side of this panel there are two panels of lace, which join at each side with another lace panel. These panels attatch to another lace panel which contyinues to the center back where there is a seam that connects them, are two lovely panels of red floral lace. The floral pattern looks like it is based on roses. Red roses represent love and this reminds me of love, so it is very appropriate. The lace seems to be able to stretch without bounds and still bounce back to its original size. The entire edge of this is finished with an embroidered stitch. Wash, after wash, after wash and still it has not ripped or stretched out of shape.

The cups of this piece offer wonderful support to my not so perky 38/40D breasts. The underwire pulls up my boobs to where they were meant to be. It does not flatten the breasts and even gives me some beautiful, wanted cleavage. In the back the bra portion has three hook/eye closures that can be adjusted to three sizes. The entire bra, including the cups, is made of the same red spandex as the center panel of the chemise. The cups are covered by the same red lace as the largest portion of the chemise. The top of the cups are finished with scalloped ege lace. Running horizontally and 2" from the top of the cups, is a seam. The seam is nicely done and adds to the beauty of this item. Between the breasts is a bow fashioned out of .75" non-stretchy red satin ribbon. For some unknown reason, lingerie designers think that to be sexy there has to be a ribbon bow between the breasts. It looks nice, but our preference is for me to look a bit more "mature", so the bow had to go. It was very, very securely attatched to this piece, making it very difficult to remove. I had to be extremely careful in removing the machine made stitches without tearing into the material. Any tears, no matter how tiny, would have caused the material to unravel when worn and especially when washed. I studied the bow carefully before trying to remove it. The easiest way was to use a narrow seam ripper and cut the stitches on top of the bow's center. The bow is knotted at that point and is thick enough to protect the garment. With some luck and skill, I was able to remove the bow with no damage to the chemise. It took some time but most of the time was spent studying how to approach the task. About 2.5" from each side seam, a .5" heavy duty, stretchy, adjustable (but not removeable) strap is placed and attatches to the back of the chemise. These offer minimal support but combined with the underwire, the support is nothing short of amazing!!!

Speaking of washing, the garment's tags say to hand wash it in cold water, using no bleach. The tags (in the panty and chemise) also say to line dry. I have washed both in a net lingerie bag in my wasing machine and on the gentle cycle and have not noticed any wear. I should mention that we have a modern machine that does not have any agitator. I don't think I would trust a machine with an agitator, mostly because of the spin cycle, which m machine does not have. The tags say you can use non-chlorine bleach but I have not used any. I have worn this to "play" without the pantys, and then just fell asleep. The next morning (or whenever!) I just placeit in the washing ag and it waits until I get around to doing laundry. The fabric is 88% nylon and 12% spandex.

My favorite part of this is the matching panty. Yes, I did say, "panty". I did not say G-string or thong. This is a full panty and it is part of my everyday panty drawer. When I wear the chemise, it is strictly for sex and I do not wear the panty. There is a nice, large cotton liner. The full panty is made of the same material as the opaque portion of the chemise. In the front there is a center opaque panel with both sides made of the sheer lace. They are more comfortable than some pantys I purchased to wear on a regular basis.

I have gained some weight recently so I am now a size 16. My old 14s still (sort of) fit, but I can feel the tightness. For this reason, I ordered the size 1X/2X. According to the size chart, this should fit someone with a 31" to 40" waist. It stretches easily so I think the size chart is accurate. If you are on the lower end of the range, and like your lingerie more loose and flowy, you would probably want to go down a size. If you are in the upper range, this will be more clingy. Either way, it will give you the hourglass look that so many of us want.

This is one of our favorite outfits. It has stood the test of time. It is in excellent condition after many uses and many washings. SEXY plus!!!
