Wait, So This Is A Dress..? Are You Sure?

This curve hugging dress proved to be far too short to wear in public, but in the bedroom? This is a great piece! The ruffles add a hint of playfulness, and "touch-ability" factor that my boyfriend can't resist. The lace paneling, on the other hand, just screams of sex appeal.

extremely useful review
When I first saw this beautiful dress, I began to imagine when I would wear it. I saw myself surprising my boyfriend with it, wearing it out for a night on the town, and dancing the night away. The pictures made it seem like the perfect dress for a night out. I regret to inform that this dress was not my dream night out dress. That being said, I have still found ways to wear this dress.

How to Wear:
So, how do I wear it, you ask?

I find that this piece makes a great item for private play with my significant other. I love pairing it with a pair of thigh high stockings and a great pair of heels, and surprising my lover with this. He adores the much too short length, and the way that the dress clings to my curves.

I also find that this dress looks cute when paired with a pair of leggings. When worn like this, it's suitable to be worn out of the house. Be aware though, this dress will hug your curves and show off everything you'e got.

Material and Care:
This dress is made out of 80% Nylon and 20% Spandex, exclusive of the trim.

This dress is composed of a few different parts. Firstly, there are the ruffles, which appear to be made out of some sort of mesh material. The ruffles are found on the top of the bust, and on the bottom of the backside of the dress. The material on the ruffles is very soft, and in my boyfriends opinion, "highly touchable". My one problem with the ruffles is that the edges of them appear to be unfinished. This makes me worry that they'll fray very quickly.

Next, we have the the lace overlay, which goes down the center of the piece, and over the cups. The lace is very stretchy, and appears to be of high quality. As with all lace, you're going to want to be careful that you don't snag it. The lace also feels very soft to the touch. The lace goes over a cream colored fabric, making the cream fabric appear to be silver, so the lace never actually touches your skin while you're wearing it.

The cream colored fabric, the black side/back panels, and the black halterneck ties appear to be made out of the same materials. This material feels very smooth, and almost silky against my skin. It is also very stretchy.

It is recommended that you hand wash this item and then hang it to dry. I, personally, have washed this on the delicate cycle of my washing machine by using a lingerie bag.

Sizing:
Coquette has made this item available in three different sizes; small, medium, and large. I purchased the large.

A large should fit someone with the following measurements:
Cups: C
Bust: 38-40"
Waist: 30-32"
Hips: 40-42"

I wear a large C/small D cup most of the time, so I was a little concerned that this item would not fit my breasts properly. My concerns about that particular area were for nothing; my breasts fit fine in the cups.

In fact, as someone who fits within all of the measurements outlined above, this dress fits me fine -- but it does hug every single one of my curves.

What does not fit me, however, is the length. This dress is VERY short. It does cover my butt, but just barely. It's definitely too short to wear in public without something underneath it.

With the dress laying flat, I took the following measurements:
From the bottom hemline to the very top of the ruffle on the bust: 24"
Across the bust, unstretched: 15"
Across the bottom hemline, unstretched: 18.5"
Experience
Design:
The design on this piece is very sexy.

First, we have the lace panels. The lace panels go down the center of the back of the piece, the center of the front of the piece, and over the busts. The fabric under the lace appears to be silver when you look at it through the black lace. This is done by laying the black lace over a cream colored fabric. The lace panels are surrounded by the solid black panels. This provides some very sexy contrast.

Then we have the ruffles. The butt ruffle of this dress is gorgeous. There 8 layers of ruffles on the back of the dress. The ruffles do not appear to make my butt look any bigger than it already is, but they do seem to make my boyfriend want to touch my ass more. Unfortunately the butt ruffles end about an inch before the actual dress ends. It would have been nice to have the ruffles go to the very bottom of the dress.

There is also ruffles along the bust of the dress. The bust ruffles consist of 4 layers of thin ruffles. I personally really like the ruffles as they help to give my breasts some coverage.

Now, I know you're all wondering about breast support... One major flaw of this dress is that it just does not offer much breast support. The cups are very lightly padded, but they didn't do much for me. There is also no underwire. Any breast support that you do get from this piece is going to come from the halter neck. If you do choose to wear a bra with this item, you're going to want to go for a strapless style bra.

Next up, we have the halter neck ties. The halter neck ties feel very sturdy. They are about 2" wide, so they're fairly comfortable to wear. The only problem is that if you're relying on the halter neck for support, you're probably going to get a neck ache after awhile; especially if you're on the busty side.

Lastly, we have the two little straps for hanging. These straps are obviously functional, but they seem to pop out of the dress whenever I wear it. For this reason, I have cut them off.

Packaging:
This stunning dress arrives on a black, padded hanger. The hanger is amazing!

The piece was covered in a plastic bag to protect it throughout the shipping process.

Quality:
This piece is of decent quality. I noticed very few loose threads, and there are no areas that appear to be coming apart. My one problem with the quality is that the edges on the ruffles are not finished.
Follow-up commentary
I still like this dress, but I haven't felt confident enough to wear it in public even with leggings underneath. The dress is just so short, and every curve... If you're daring, this is a good choice for you, but you're definitely going to need to wear something under it.
