Something Blue bustier - bustier discontinued by Coquette - review by This Is For The Birds

This bustier is something to be worn only in the bedroom for your partner. This bustier just goes to show that Coquette makes some top of the line lingerie. This is a lace, see-through bustier with removable garter straps. It's perfect to surprise your partner in and seduce them in the night. It would even be great on the wedding night as the something blue.


Material/Texture
The corset is made from lace/nylon. It has metal boning down the front with and underwire top. The back is a hook and eye closure with two eye positions for the perfect fit. It is very soft and comfortable, which is one of the great pluses to this item. Normally lace is itchy to me, so I was hesitant to really try this, but I went for it, and I am glad I did. It is so soft and stretchy, and it just feels so smooth against my skin.

Design/Shape/Size
The bustier I received is a size medium. It would fit a wide range of sizes due to the stretch of the lace. However the negative I found about this bustier was, once again, in the boob area. Maybe if I had a small, it would fit a bit better. I wear a size 0 in pants, so you can imagine how small I am; I weigh a total of 120 pounds, and I have a bra size of 32B (I cannot wait to get my boob job). I did have to wear it on the looser eye closure for it to fit my midsection, but it was very loose in the boob area, so for someone with a smaller chest, I would not recommend it.
The garter straps are removable and do not come attached.

Function/Performance
The whole thing is lace, so it is see-through everywhere, even the boobs. The hook and eye closure is very easy to close, and the shoulder straps are an adjustable spaghetti style that really hold the outfit in place. The garter straps come unattached, but they are easy to attach and detach.

Care and Maintenance
Since this is lace/nylon, this would have to be washed on a delicate cycle and then hung to dry, making it somewhat high maintenance.

You will know that part of your purchase will go towards a good cause.

For lace, it is soft, and I love that about this bustier. However, I'm still not a fan of it being lace only, due to the the whole thing being see-through. I am very confident with my body, however I like to be sexy yet still conservative, so this isn't really my style.
