Use

Vanity: excessive pride in one’s appearance, qualities, abilities, achievements, etc.

Jopen hit the nail on the head when they named this line of vibrators Vanity. These toys designed for women by women have a lot to be proud of.

The Vr7 is another rabbit-style vibrator in Jopen’s Vanity line. Vr7 sets itself apart from other rabbit vibrators in that it isn’t contoured like a replica penis and there is no animal appendage on the clitoral portion. How it distances itself from a lot of vibrators, however, is that the clitoral vibrations are very powerful while remaining whisper quiet. If you’re someone who’s insecure about your partner replacing you with sex toys you probably don’t want to buy this one for them. You may have some serious competition.

Material / Texture

Jopen’s vanity line is made out of velvety silicone, which means that you get a great vibrator with an equally great material to match. Silicone is non-porous, latex and phthalates free, and hypo-allergenic. It’s also great for temperature play since silicone retains heat and cold temperatures well. You can soak this vibrator in a bowl of hot water (not boiling) for a while before play to add a new element to your play time.

The material has a luxurious, velvety feel in hand. It has the type of feel that you would expect from a premium vibrator. The velvet touch is nice, but you will probably want to use some water-based lube with this vibrator as a result. It does have some grab to it.

I’ve read that some users say this collects lint. We’ve not really noticed that much. With the texture of this vibrator it wouldn’t surprise me to see it collect more lint, but so far in our experiences we haven’t seen much.

When I asked my wife it collects lint she said, “No, but it does collect orgasms.”
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

The Vr7 is shaped pretty similar to most rabbit vibrators with a few changes that may be what you’re looking for. There’s no penis-shaped head or veins on this vibrator. The tip of the shaft curves up a little for g spot stimulation and the shaft bulges as you get closer to the clitoral attachment.

You also will find the clitoral attachment is rounded with no animal shapes (like rabbit ears) or points. It’s flexible enough that it won’t cause you pain from clamping down on your clit and it also allows the toy to accommodate for a wider range of body types. Because it is so flexible, however, I don’t think you would want to use this for anal play. It could work if you’re careful, but if you bend it backwards hard enough repeatedly I could imagine this possibly breaking the clitoral attachment off or causing it not to vibrate anymore. If you choose to use this anally, do so cautiously at your own risk.

The base is a wider bulb that makes a nice handle for thrusting. The two on/off buttons are located on the front of the base below the clitoral attachment. My wife says she never has a problem with it, but I could see how some people may have to adjust their grip on the vibrator to keep from accidentally pressing the buttons and shutting the toy off mid-use. The hole for charging is located on the bottom of the base and there’s a seam that runs down the center of both the front and back of the vibrator, but it cannot be felt during use.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Jopen made the Vanity line very easy to control, but before you can feel the power waiting inside the vibrator you’ll have to unlock it. This is easily done by holding down both power buttons simultaneously for 4 seconds. When the bottom power button lights up you know the toy is unlocked. To lock it again, repeat the process and wait for both lights to go off.

The top button makes the shaft of the vibrator rotate. There are no vibrations to it, just rotation although you may feel some of the vibrations from the clitoral portion travel up the shaft. My wife says she really doesn’t feel the shaft doing much if anything, but she prefers clitoral stimulation anyways.

The bottom button controls the PowerBullet inside the clitoral portion of the vibrator. When Jopen calls this a PowerBullet, they are right on. This is the strongest battery powered vibrator my wife has ever had the pleasure of trying. Even on the highest setting, though, this vibrator remains very quiet. You won’t hear it through the door and you may not even hear it if you’re in the room while it’s in use, but your eyes crossing will be a dead give away to what’s happening beneath the sheets.

Adjusting the strength is easy, although it may be a little too easy. You can’t click through levels on this vibrator. A single press of either button turns that portion of the toy on and another press shuts it back off. To adjust the strength of either section you must press and hold the button until you reach the desired speed/strength. The slight downfall here is that if you want the toy strength somewhere in the middle and you hold the button too long you will go past the desired level. There’s no way to go back. You must shut the toy off and start again. This set up is great if you need to quickly shut the toy off due to an unexpected interruption, but slightly irritating if you accidentally shut the toy off or go past the level you wanted during use.

Jopen says this toy is waterproof and it worked beautifully in the shower, but there is a sticker on the plastic bag the box comes in that says “the toy is water resistant not waterproof – do not immerse in water”. My guess is that Eden put this sticker on due to some issues others have had. I don’t know for sure they did it, but I chose to heed that warning. Normally I would be tempted to test it in the name of a good review, but I truly think my wife would kill me if I broke this vibrator. You’ll have to test it at your own risk.

The Vr7 takes about 3-4 hours to charge (and a full charge is mandatory before your first use) and is done by pushing a long pin charger into the base of the vibrator. Red lights mean the toy is charging and white means it’s done. A full charge will last varying amounts depending on how strong of vibrations you like. So far we’ve had the toy about a month. It’s been charged just the first initial time and I’m guessing it’s been used about 4 hours total so far and it still feels as strong as the first time.

Care and Maintenance

This vibrator is easy to care for. Silicone is a “10” on Eden’s safety scale and can be cleaned by soapy water, toy cleaner, and cleaning wipes. I wouldn’t recommend boiling it as you may damage the vibrating parts inside. For the same reason I would avoid putting it in the dishwasher.

It is recommended that you use water-based lube with silicone toys. If you have a silicone lube that you’re hoping to use, I would do a spot test first to make sure there aren’t any adverse reactions. This is not a cheap toy to replace and if you’re like my wife you would definitely want to replace it.

Jopen gives you a very nice drawstring pouch for storing this toy, which will help you to store this toy away from other silicone toys. You wouldn’t want this beauty to melt with another silicone toy. It’s great just the way it is, no mutations needed.
    • Easy to clean

Packaging

The Vr7 comes in a classy looking white box that fits the price range of this toy. The front is simple, but nice and turning the box over shows a picture of the vibrator, company website, and some highlights of the product. Anyone who looks at the back of the box is going to know what’s inside so I wouldn’t say it’s discreet, but it is very nice looking. Pull the vibrator, charger, and cardboard sleeve out of the box and you’ll find a fancy sheer paper with all the same info as the back of the box plus some extra product highlights. It’s a nice touch if not a little redundant. There’s also a booklet that contains the same product highlights (yet again), shows off all the products in the Vanity line, and operating instructions for each model. Last, but not least is the black drawstring bag with Jopen’s name on it. It feels like a microfiber/nylon cloth and will be great for storing this product away from lint and other silicone toys. Overall, I’d say the packaging and contents for this product definitely meets expectations, but most of it can be recycled after your initial inspection.

Personal comments

I think I found the last vibrator my wife will ever use. Her last vibrator was getting weaker even with new batteries and it wasn’t getting the job done anymore. She wanted something stronger that didn’t have pointy rabbit ears that sometimes caused her pain during use. Enter the Vr7 by Jopen. Her eyes lit up the first time we turned it on to the highest setting. It has all the features she wanted and it gets the job done every time so far. If this vibrator ever breaks, I’m pretty sure my wife will be having me buy it again.
Follow-up commentary

Thanks for reading it Mrs. Hellzapoppin!

You're right KrissyNovacaine. Occasionally the controls do get bumped, but it hasn't happened enough to us to be a source of frustration yet.

You're welcome Beautiful-Disaster! Hope you can get one soon. I'm guessing you'll love it!
