The Daydream by Doc Johnson is a two-piece g-spot vibrator. Since it is silicone and has a rubber o-ring on the battery compartment, this waterproof toy is perfect for use in a bath or shower. The dildo is smooth with a gentle curve that is great for external stimulation as well as hitting the g-spot. The bullet is thin and can be inserted into the dildo or can be used alone. This toy would not be suitable for anal insertion, since there is no flared base. This toy is fairly easy to use. The Daydream has a single button on the base of the bullet. This button is the on/off switch as well as the speed control. One press starts the vibrations off on low, another press brings it up to medium vibration, a third press brings it to the highest setting, and the final press turns the off the vibrator. In order to turn off the vibrator, you must go through all three speeds. The size of the base of the head and the degree of the curve could be intimidating for a beginner. Other than that, the fuchsia/magenta color of the dildo and the slim bullet make this toy very appealing.

According to the packaging, the Daydream is hypo-allergenic, odor-free, and phthalate-free. This toy is truly odor-free, as well as taste-free. The material is shiny and has quite a bit of drag to it. Since the dildo is silicone, it is firm but still has a little bit of give it it. The smooth material is suitable for beginners and advanced users, alike. The smooth texture and cushion are a nice combination. There are no seams on the toy. However, the Doc Johnson label is embossed into the base of the silicone. On the unit I received, there is an imperfection on top of the curve; the finish is slightly matte, which is not consistent with the rest of the toy. Neither the embossed label nor the imperfection are noticeable when inserted.

The bullet is slender with a rounded top. The base has raised marking, and a sticker reminding you to close the cap tightly. Again, neither of these is felt during use. Does the material translate vibrations well?

When the bullet is inserted in the dildo, the toy can still bend at the curve. Once the bullet is removed, the toy becomes even more flexible. The vibrations from the bullet can be felt through the silicone along the entire toy, even on the lowest setting.

The sleek design of this toy is very appealing, and the curve allows for perfect positioning on the g-spot.

The dildo is approximately 6" long (about the size of a standard stick of deodorant) and between 1" and 1.5" in diameter. The bullet is 5" long and .75" in diameter. When inserted into the dildo, the bullet sticks out between .5" and .75", making the total length about 6.5". This size is good for beginners, and advanced users will like the amount of curve offered by this toy. The only change I would make in this product would be to make the shaft a little longer to make gripping and positioning the toy a little bit easier.

The friction between the metal and silicone makes it difficult to insert the bullet into the dildo, so lubricant would be helpful when putting these pieces together.

The durable material and compact size make this toy great for travel.

This toy runs on 2 AAA batteries, which are not included. One button controls on/off, as well as the speed. The button control is both a gift and a curse. No water leaked into the battery compartment, even when completely submerged in the bathtub.

The Daydream should be cleaned before and after use. To clean this toy, remove the bullet from the dildo. Both pieces can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and water or toy cleaner. The dildo can also be disinfected by boiling it for 3 minutes, by soaking it in a 10% bleach solution, or by placing it onto the top rack of the dishwasher. Make sure to remove the vibrator first! Cleaning the hole for the bullet may be difficult, since the hole is about 5" deep. However, there are no nooks or crannies that would catch debris.

Since it can be sterilized, it can be shared with other partners when cleaned between uses.

One should use a water-based lubricant with this toy. Silicone-based lubricants will damage the material.

This toy is a lint magnent; any fibers from towels as well as dust and hair will easily cling to this toy. To best avoid lint, let the toy air dry and then place it directly into storage. You can store this toy in the plastic clam-shell package it came in, a zipper baggie, or a cloth bag or pouch.

The packaging for this toy is not discreet by any means. Is is a clear plastic packaging with both the dildo and bullet visible. Odor-free and phthalate-free. What could be better? It's made to the exacting and consistent standards of Doc Johnson, the industry's leader."

One thing that I found interesting when reading the packaging of this toy was that the front claims, "Built in America since 1976," yet the back states, "Made in PRC and USA. Packaged in the USA." PRC stands for the People's Republic of China, so if you are someone who only supports products made in the United States, you should be aware that some parts of this product are not.

Since this was my first waterproof toy, I decided to use it in the bathtub. Installing the batteries was my first difficult task. Inside of the bullet's battery compartment was a rolled up piece of paper and a piece of plastic with two clips. For the first couple of minutes, I could not figure out how to get the batteries into the compartment. I tried, unsuccessfully, to pick the paper out of the compartment. Finally, I serendipitously made the plastic piece move. Upon removing it, I discovered that it was a battery sleeve; the two AAA batteries nestle perfectly in the sleeve, and then can be slipped back into the compartment.

My next task was inserting the bullet into the dildo. Metal rubbing against silicone does not allow for easy insertion. Fortunately, I had my lubricant handy, so a tiny drop and I was good to go.

Another thing I noticed while I waited for my bath to fill up was that the Daydream kept rolling around on the ledge of the tub, despite the curved head. This could be a potential nuisance if placed on a counter or other surface.

However, once I started using the Daydream, I was pretty pleased with it. The curved head is nice for external stimulation, and the smooth texture allowed for slippery bath time fun. I removed the bullet to use each piece separately. In this case, the whole is definitely better than the sum of its parts. After reinserting the bullet and playing some more, I can across one more potential problem; depending on the position one is in during use the button can get accidentally bumped, thus interrupting the current setting or, heaven forbid, turning off the vibrator.

All in all, this was a decent toy. I was impressed that the vibrations from the bullet were equally strong even when placed inside of the dildo.
