Dolphin Ride

For the price, this vibrator fell a little flat for me. I do love the non-typical design of the dolphin jumping out of the water instead of the rabbit attachment, but the beak is too pokey. This would be a great vibrator for someone who doesn't require a lot of power or length, but loves texture and girth. It also helps if you don't have a tiny clit.

Use

The Symphony Edition Dolphin Sonata is a uniquely designed rabbit vibrator, except it has a dolphin. if you turn the vibrator sideways it looks like a dolphin jumping out the water with waves. It's quite pretty, especially with the gorgeous blue color. It is made of a durable TPR material used in many Evolved toys. The dolphin appendage can be a clit stimulator, or if you turn the toy around, it can stimulate and tease the external anal area. The waves offer great texture and the shaft has a good amount of girth. What it doesn't have a lot of is insertable length or mind blowing power. The three speeds of steady vibrations are fairly mild, but will satisfy those who are not power mongers. For the price, you are getting a very interesting and good quality dual vibrator, but not one that has a lot of functions. Consequently, this vibrator is really easy to use and is good for beginners too. Just watch out for that beak!

Material / Texture

The Symphony Sonata comes in an appropriately colored blue and then one of two signature Evolved colors, pink. I have the blue. It's not completely clear, but is somewhat clouded and opaque instead. You can still see through it enough to see the plastic shaft inside and the bullet at the tip of the shaft and in the clitoral attachment.

The majority of this vibrator is made of jelly like, phthalate and latex free TPR. It is body safe and is also hypo-allergenic. The material is very flexible but much more durable than jelly or rubber. It is also less porous but not completely non porous, so a condom should be used if you want to share since it cannot be sterilized. It has a slight smell of plastic and a hint of citrus to it. The smell is not strong and it does not transfer to things like fingers or clothing. It decreases with time and washing. The material may retain the smell of your soap, however.

The material is minimally sticky and does have some drag. Lubricant is necessary and rinsing before use is also a good idea because it picks up lint easily. The material has enough give to let it flex and bend to a certain extent but not so much that the texture is lost. The only part that I wish were softer is the beak!

Design / Shape / Size

A dolphin jumping out of water with gentle waves... so pretty!

The total length of the vibrator from tip to the very base where the button is located is 8 1/4". The insertable is pretty short, though. It can only be inserted 4 1/2". This is probably not enough for most, but because of the girth, it was a good amount for me. The shaft itself has a slightly upturned end, but it isn't enough to really do much extra to the g-spot. The end is nicely rounded for easy insertion. The shaft is firm because of the thick core and bullet inserted at the top, but it still has the ability to bend about 45 degrees is any direction.

The thickness varies due to the texture of the waves and the random three circles that are raised along the shaft. At the base of the insertable length, the circumference is about 5". It is about 1 5/8" in diameter. About 4 1/2" down from the tip of the shaft is where the dolphin clitoral attachment starts. It's fairly detailed! It has the correct amount of fin, pectoral and dorsal, eyes, beak and mouth, and even a blow hole indentation. The dolphin is about 3" long and comes out from the shaft at about a 45 degree angle. It can bend back to make almost a 90 degree angle. It has its own bullet, although it is smaller.

The bottom unscrews so 2 AA batteries can be inserted. This toy is waterproof and has an o-ring to protect the inside. The very bottom of the plastic matte battery cap has a single push button. It is very easy to operate.

This toy is pretty obvious looking, even though it isn't typical in design. If you want to hide your toys, this one isn't the easiest because of the material, size, and shape, but if you keep the package, it makes it a lot easier.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Pushing the button on the bottom of the vibrator turns on the first of three steady vibration modes.

1. Medium low steady level - the vibrations can be felt in most of the shaft, but the clit attachment is barely felt at all. It's clear that the bullets have different intensities. This makes sense since they are different sizes. The noise level is really low. This level is not high enough to do much for me.

2. Medium steady level - the vibrations can be felt throughout the entire shaft and the clit attachment becomes useful. The noise level jumps a bit, but can't be heard through a door if it is making contact with the body.

3. Medium high steady level - the vibration level at its highest is still pretty mild compared to other toys and other Evolved toys too. It isn't too intense for me and might not be enough for some. The sound level can be heard through the door because the toy begins to rattle when not in contact with the body or inserted.

This toy is waterproof, as it should be! It passed both my shower and submerged in the tub test.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is easy to care for. You can use silicone or water based lubricant and can wash it with soap and warm water. You can also use a toy spray. I used a wash cloth to get in the cracks. The material cannot be completely sterilized so you need to use a condom if you are sharing. When storing use the package if you can . Otherwise, store it away from toys of the same or similar materials, in a cool and dark place. Remove the batteries before you store it.

Packaging

The Sonata comes in a large Evolved tin with a plastic see through lid that snaps on. The red tin looks a bit odd with e pink or blue coloring, but I guess that doesn't really matter. The vibrator sits in a cut out foam piece, holding it safe. It makes for excellent storage. The package has a lot of information including company info and warranty options.
    • Good for storage
    • Very informative
    • Would make a nice gift

Experience

The Dolphin Sonata went in smoothly and I love the girth it has, but i feel like it lacks power. I could only finish with this on the highest level and I have a fairly sensitive clit. those who require a lot of clit power, look elsewhere. The shaft was fine though. The texture is amazing and I love the shape. What i don't like is the beak because it pokes my clit. I found that I had to apply pressure to the clit attachment so it lays more flat. This occupies both of my hands so I can't play with my nipples. So instead, I like to turn the shaft around and use the beak and head of the Dolphin to tease the outer anal area. This works a lot better for me since my clit is small. The beak has a hard time hitting it without assistance. I can imagine that this vibrator is great for certain women, but not for me. If you like girth, don't require super strong vibes and length, and you love texture, this vibrator is a unique dual stimulator.
Follow-up commentary
The Symphony Sonata is a dust collector in my collection. The beak is too pokey for me to make this a go-to rabbit especially against other rabbits I own. Evolved's Dream Maker is a much better choice for a go-to rabbit.

I'm with lilmiss5054. I was super excited to see a Symphony toy in rabbit form that had a little "twist" but now after seeing that the beak seems to be a problem with a few people I think i'll keep looking for a new rabbit.
