The low cost and the actual achievement of the desired effects are definitely worth a try. This vibrator requires a little extra special attention on care, but can provide a worth-while experience.

Use

The Ultimate Beaver made by California Exotic Novelties is classified as a vibrating rabbit. I purchased this for my wife thinking it would be great as her first dual-action vibrator. I wanted a toy that gave her many different sensations and worked on those special areas all at the same time. The Ultimate Beaver did just that. I was able to stimulate my wife's very elusive g-spot but was also able to please her clitorally at the same time. Although it was I whom had to initiate using this toy, I think she found it pleasantly exciting. I do have high hopes that this will be a toy that she will be willing to give it a go solo.

The controls are quite easy to become accustomed to so it's a great toy for the beginner. I believe that for anyone on a budget, this is the toy to buy. At $23.99 and only requiring three AA batteries, it gives a lot of bang for the buck. It's a toy that can be used by couples as well as solo play. I had no problem "reading" what my wife was feeling without her saying a word. The vibrator has a definite difference in rotational speed as well as vibration. It was nice to find a toy that started out slow, but also had the strength to go all the way.

Material / Texture

The material that this vibrator is made of is mostly rubber. It has a slight rubber smell to it. It has a soft feel, but also has a rubbery grip (like a stress ball) without the use of a lubricant. Personally, I wouldn't try to taste the material because I don't think rubber is good to eat or has any nutritional benefits.

The base of the vibrator houses the battery compartment and the controls. It is made of plastic, and is not intended for use in water. The base is also of an adequate length to makes holding the vibrator during use quite easy. It also has raised ridges that make it harder for hands to slip.

Design / Shape / Size

I do have to admit that the design on this toy is a little confusing to me. The clitoral stimulator is a little beaver with its tongue sticking out. The part that is a bit confusing to me is the figure on the shaft. To me, it looks like a lady on a totem pole. That being said, being a man, for the life of me I cannot see how that improves the feel of this product. It does make it a little harder to clean though. When the vibrator isn't in use for its intended purpose, the lady on the totem pole does a little dance if you use the rotate function. Maybe it's to lighten the mood before the pleasure begins.

The length of this vibrator is nine inches, with an insertable length of four and a half inches-little beaver is in the way. It has a circumference of four and three quarters and a diameter of one and a half inches. It's of a size that isn't intimidating, but also isn't too small to fulfill needs. I would say that it is a good rounded toy for anyone on a budget.

This toy would not be one for easy travel due to its nine inch length. It can fit in a suitcase or even a large purse, but I probably would reserve that kind of travel to a car etc. Air flight would be out unless it was a private plane. I would also say that due to the nature of this vibrator, one would also have to carry some lubricant with to use this toy. Remember, use a water based or silicone based lubricant only.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The controls of the toy are located at the base. It consists of four push buttons which are very easily labeled. The functions of the buttons are: (while not being used in playtime)

First button: Turns on the Ultimate Beaver. It starts on a low vibration which is similar in sound to a cell phone on vibrate.

Second button: Is the high vibration setting-it is a bit faster in motion and the sound is a bit higher pitched cell phone on vibrate.

Third button: Controls the twisting of the shaft of the vibrator. This is in addition to the vibrating (which you can have on high or low). The movement of the "slow" setting is intimidating at first because it was moving faster than I expected it too. It also gives the added sound which reminds me of a weak electric razor.

Fourth button: Controls the twisting of the shaft on a "high" setting. This is where it got a little tricky since you have to have both the "low" and "high" twister buttons pushed to get it to run on high. It does go only a little faster than the low setting, and the sound is just a pitch higher.

One of the downsides to the controls is that you could easily hit the wrong buttons even if you memorize the locations of the functions, especially if you have larger fingers than most women. Another is that if you used this during solo play it might be a bit difficult to use the controls and will probably end up with the same problems as the situation above.

The Ultimate Beaver is not really noisy. You could easy use this behind closed doors with nobody being aware. It is hardly noticeable when it is inserted vaginally. We did not test the toy anally but will make the assumption that the same result in sound would occur.

The Ultimate Beaver is not waterproof. Care is needed when cleaning, and it should never be submerged.

Care and Maintenance

The Ultimate Beaver is made primarily of rubber with the controls and battery compartment being plastic. This toy is by far the most difficult vibrator to clean of those that we own. It is made of rubber which is porous. Add the design features which include veins and it leaves many nooks and crevices to clean. We clean this one by using a cloth dipped in warm water with a bit of soap and then scrub it down with a toothbrush. The toothbrush is able to get into the spots that we either miss with the cloth or don't even see.

Do not submerge this vibrator as it is not waterproof and take care not to get water into the control/battery compartment. You could also use a condom to keep the cleaning chore a bit easier. We used a water based lubricant with the Ultimate Beaver but you can also use a silicone based lubricant as well.

We have done nothing special with storing it. After it dries we toss it back into the box that it came in. It is a little harder to remove from the box, as the rubber grabs it and doesn't slide out easily. My wife makes sure to clean it before and after use so we have not run into any issues storing it this way.

Packaging

On the front of the box that the Ultimate Beaver comes in is a picture of the vibrator itself. In the background is a "country" girl that gives the appearance that she has been satisfied with the phrase "The All-in-one Total Experience". Turning the box to the back is another graphic of the vibrator. The graphics of the vibrator show the controls clearly and functions on the base. There were no instructions on use, but after looking at it and fiddling with the controls, one could figure it out on their own.

Located on the bottom of the box it does warn to wash before and after use, not to get the battery compartment wet, and not to immerse in water. It goes on to say that you should not share this with partners. You should use this with a condom to prevent STDs and become knowledgeable on sexual education, good judgment, and so forth. The last thing stated is that you should use a rubber compatible lubricant with this product for maximum pleasure.

This box by no means is discreet, so leaving it out or gift giving without wrapping, screams what this product looks like and what it is supposed to do.

Experience

When my husband first showed this vibrator to me, I was not sure what to think. At first glance it is not the most attractive thing to look at, and it was a little creepy and confusing. I must admit I did underestimate this product due to the appearance. The beaver sticking out its tongue at a weird ladies face was a lot to take in.

He did have to talk me into using this vibrator, and I must say I am glad he did. I have not had a lot of experience with vibrators, and this one was able to please me clitorally but also when it was inserted vaginally.

The vibrations were not overpowering, and amazingly the "twisting" motion was not uncomfortable. The differences between high and low on both settings were noticeable, but I enjoyed that there was not a jarring or jumping feeling as my husband switched through them. Another plus to the vibrator is that even though it does have texture to it (nooks and crannies), it did feel smooth. There was no feeling of resistance on the rubber with any of the thrusting that took place.

I will say that the Ultimate Beaver did not send me into wild fits nor was I gushing all over, but it was a wonderful experience that will be repeated. If you can get past the appearance (I secretly want to add a little grass skirt to the shaft to watch her do the hula) this is a great toy for those that are new to them and advanced users.
Follow-up commentary
I still recommend this vibrator as a good-starter vibrator. It's not expensive and it does have great bonuses. Although my wife and I have moved up to more expensive ones with more bells and whistles, this one still manages to come out from time to time. The design is still a bit confusing, artistically speaking, but it does a nice job. We use it more now for a warmer up, then a get up and go. It still stands the test of time!
